You're being downvoted but you're not really wrong. Biden just sent millions of more dollars to the cops " to protect schools " as if American police departments aren't already some of the most heavily armed and well equipped police in the world right now.

The Republicans are definitely more overt in their anti women and anti queer rheortic and actions, but the dems are fortifying the military industrial complex when the writing on the wall is clearly that these weapons will be used agaisnt the people domestically rather then protecting any schools or whatever bullshit reason they come up with.

Many police have been openly supportive of fascist movements and helped facilitate Trumps election in the first place. Not to mention most American cops seem to think that the BLM protests were worse then J6. Giving them more weapons and power will only result in more death for the average person. They're a quasi military/state within state force at this point.

For years many in Syria have said that WW3 has already begun and is being fought in the middle east. You could very well argue this is the opening stage of World War 3. We're only one misclick, or one civilian airliner being shot down away from even greater catastrophe.

For sure, conscription in of itself is criminal but like the USA during Vietnam, poor people,ethnic minorities and developmentally disabled men are disproportionately grabbed off the streets and litteraly forced into service.

I agree. I'm a " reddit refugee " so to speak but I think people here are jumping the gun with their expectations. Of course, Lemmy is not brand new but the actual influx of users seems to be pretty recent.

It took years for reddit to really become a more diverse site that actually appealed to a wider demographic then just tech nerds and communists, which from what I can understand is more or less what lemmy was comprised of before the huge uptick in migration here lol.

Anyways I do think people need to cool it with their expectations. More and better moderating tools being needed is in no way limited to just Lemmy either. Mastodon also has problems with admins fucking with whole instances, or just outright disappearing and leaving the ship without a captain.

Its the teething stages of the fediverse. For what its worth, its fucking amazing thats something as decentralized is getting this much play anyways.

The more people that come along and the more diversity in communties will eventually make the fediverse a better and more useful place then reddit was. It will take some time though, and a much large user base. It will come though.

For what its worth the reddit search function seemed to have functioned much better a decade ago.

That said, the Soviets being invaded was the decisive factor in the war. The invaded will always fight harder then the invader. For the most part anyways.

The Germans were already loosing by 1943, wasting tons of resources doing the holocaust as well. The Western allies opening up the Italian and French fronts only increased the speed of this.
