I think it was stupid you had to buy games twice for stadia. The caveat of GFN with 2FA being annoying is an acceptable compromise imo. I also looked at the compatibility list and didn't find it to be lacking many games tbh. But mb I have different needs and expectations here or mb they don't work as advertised?
Lots of vague, single-sentence arguments about being "capitalist," "communist," or "socialist," along with "leftist," "liberal," or "conservative," but I don't see a single one acknowledging that each of those words can individually encompass vast groups of conflicting ideas and have wildly different meanings in different parts of the world; a serious problem considering at least a few of the people posting in this thread aren't in the US.

Yeah but those instances are not nearly as big as lemmyworld and the others. I also didn't say that there were no communists at all. There are just not as many as OP made it out to be.
Define 'full of communists'.. cause it sounds like such an american phrase and perspective. To me, it's just a more leftwing centered space. The real communists are a minority. At least on the biggest Lemmy servers.
I'm not surprised you're from there. In Germany people often talk about how pupils are still hit by teachers in India, often followed by a debate whether this is sth we can judge from a German perspective.
My grandpa was also hit by his teachers in the 50s and my parents seldomly. But I never experienced it in the 90s/00s. Abuse is rather psychological nowadays I would say. More subversive.
Generally, no. I wouldn't give respect to anyone who mistreats me and would probably report it (if student) to a higher authority through my parents. But because this issue differs across cultures, it's not that easy to defend yourself against it sometimes. In Japan or India hierarchy between different generations is seen as something more important than in Europe for example, so they might put blame rather on pupils than teachers no matter what. In Europe, teachers would be fired immediately if they behaved as you describe. So it really depends on your circumstances and if your parents support you in your cause.
I would try to find a compromise between what your culture expects of you and your personal moral compass. Otherwise people might not side with you and you will just have a tough life. So be clever in how you approach it. Also if other students feel similar it might be a good idea if you all tell your parents to connect each other to do sth against it. If hierarchy is an issue they have more power to do sth against it.
