  • Guarantee he thinks everyone laughed because he had such a great response to the question it made the prosecution look dumb.

  • You know what? I was wrong. I mistook "The Inquirer" A Philadelphia based newspaper with "The National Enquirer" a tabloid rag that isn't worth the paper it's printed on. My bad.

  • I'm sure it's accurate and all, but it will be a cold day in hell when I click on an Inquirer link.

Edit: Nevermind. I mistook The Inquirer for the much less reputable The National Enquirer.

  • What a wonderful website. All it needs is flames.gif and a link to a page that has little barricades on it that says "Under construction"

  • I blame my love of high fantasy on the Xanth series. First it was Xanth, then it was Redwall, now it's my preferred form of escapism.

  • A pass key is the private key in a private/public key pair. The private key is stored in the TPM on your device. The website contains the public key. When you use your "one password" you're in effect giving your device permission to access the key storage in your TPM to fetch the private key to present it to the site.

What this means in practice is that if a website has a data breach they won't have your hashed password, only your public key which... is public. It doesn't and can't do anything on its own. It needs the private key, which again only you have and the website doesn't store, to do anything at all.

If you want to read more about it look into cryptographic key pairs. Pretty neat how they work.

  • I liketo think my take on the conflict is pretty nuanced. Generally, I don't like the State of Isreal.

Let me be crystal clear with what I just wrote: I believe the government of Isreal has fostered a culture of dehumanizing Palestinians and is complicit in crimes against humanity. This is apparent with its history of stealing land and extra-judicial killings of Palestinian civilians by the IDF. The people of Israel deserve so much better.

This sentiment also largely applies to Palestine. The Hamas Government triggered this conflict by striking at civilians in Israel. I understand that their primary driving ideology is to kill jews and I think that is fucked up. I also understand that after years of the afore mentioned land grabbing and killings it has led to these extreme attacks by Hamas. It really feels like a chicken and egg situation, which started first. Either way the people of Palestine deserve so much better.

I am more than capable of assigning blame to the appropriate places and lament the affects it has on the victims of violence.

  • Ohh what a fun argument! Is this comment referring to Palestine or Isreal???

  • "Everyone I don't like is a Communist" The Nazi's guide to being GOP.

  • Authoritarian apologists that pretend to be communists. You can find them in the wild typically talking about how great and strong the Chinese government is and how evil and corrupt the "US Imperials" are.

Historically the term was used to describe communist members that defended the use of tanks against civilians during an uprising idln Hungary, hence the name.

  • It's a pejorative term to describe authoritarian Chinese government apologists. Historically it was used to describe communist members that defended the use of tanks against civilians during a Hungary uprising.

  • Jokes on you, my wife's Grandmother will click on any and every link she sees.

  • Ya he's giving off some real Libertarian/FrEe MaRkEt/whatevenistheageofconsent vibes

  • Not really. If they schedule oil changes every 6 months the mileage check is to see if they should also schedule like a transmission check so you don't have to keep coming back

  • That there was some confusion whether it is a purple monster that eats people or a monster that only eats purple people.

  • I'm actually the opposite. I've tried using Lemmy and I still do to an extent but I dunno. I love the feel of kbin

  • It's a name he adopted while living in Paris, according to Greg Sestero.

  • Huh. I don't remember buying it. Great game though.

  • Yeah but I've gotten some absolutely stellar games for free. The ones that cone to mind are Satisfactory, Subnautica, and Prey. Well worth it
