  • my mother, also a boomer, had the exact same response when we got onto the conversation of electric vehicles (she wanted to buy a new car; i recommended electric).

i didnt really know how to respond. i still dont understand why one would want to leave the world worse than how they found it.

  • good. fuck google and their horrendous business practices.

when you get a new phone where android is the only option as an operating system, the first thing to appear when you turn it on is allowing google to own all of your data. if you decline, it says you must return your phone to the dealer or accept.

    fuck this mobster shit.

  • i started realizing more and more that my father's jokes were racist. then i started noticing that his normal speech and interactions were racist.

i was brought up with this racism as a norm, so it took me a long time to realize we were a racist family (longer than i would like to admit).

then after a realizing how racist we were, i put two and two together....... my father is a police officer.

  • when i start talking politics with people, i regularly have to preface the conversation with "i am an extreme outlier that is very far left" because i get very weird looks for saying things like, "all people should be able to eat."

its a weird state of being trying to defend something kind.

  • i have some friends like this. we regularly disagree on things, and that is okay. they dont want to change their worldview just as much as you dont want to change yours.

"i disagree" is a complete thought - there is never a necessity to explain why you dont have the hatred they do.
