  • The removals are a product of the longstanding Safe Third Country Agreement, which requires anyone seeking refugee protection in Canada or the U.S. to claim asylum in the first of the two countries they reach.

I understand why they've had that agreement. However, it should've been obvious for some time now that maybe that's an agreement they should bin? It's blatantly obvious the us don't treat refugees/asylum seekers the way they deserve at the moment

  • So they asked beforehand if there was space for them, and they were told it was not. They were told by the police to exit the highway, and they did not.

Unless there's more to the story than what the article says, this is some seriously entitled behaviour

  • It's the betrayal. The US were supposed to be our allies, our friends. And now a large part of their population have shown their true colours. They will burn all the bridges they've built over decades at the whims of a fascist moron.

If this is what the US are now, this fascist, law neglecting state. Then I'm not sure they are a lesser evil. I'm struggling to see how the current regime is any better than the CCP. And that's saying a lot.

It sucks that we have to deal with one fully authoritarian state and one wannabe as the two major states

  • On the off chance any trump supporters are reading this. We are, hopefully, banding closer together because your leaders are alienating you from us. We never wanted this trade war and we never asked to have our sovereignty threatened.

It's not against you. It's for us. You're stepping away from your allies, so we have to be closer.

  • I'm kinda on board for the arson as well. There are a lot of people who don't give a shit about who they support if they can get a car for cheap. But if that car brings the with it the risk of being set on fire or just generally vandalised then maybe that would make self serving cunts rethink their purchase as well.

Weird to say, but trash new teslas

  • It does to them. Then both the us and russia can't point their fingers at Ukraine for being the aggressor when they won't adhere to their ridiculous demands. Thus giving them ammunition for their propaganda machines around the world painting Ukraine as unreasonable warmongers.

  • Lucky for me that I'm Norwegian then. And guess what, mine and a lot of Norwegians moral compass align with the EUs, in general. Especially now with the current regime in the US who clearly see us as adversaries or even enemies, these are our closest moral and ethical allies. At least when it comes to the Russian invasion, which again, this post is about!

Of course I'm arguing from a perceived moral high ground. Why on earth would I argue from a position where I meant I was in the wrong?

And just to be absolutely clear. There's not a single Nation I can think of who's handled Israel's despicable actions in the right way. We can only hope the people in charge will see consequences for their actions. That doesn't mean people of those nations aren't entitled to take an ethical and moral standpoint.

I'm going to stop replying now. Have a good day

  • Mate, it's a post about Hungary, again, being an obstruction that benefits an invading nation.

If no-one were allowed to criticise another country's leader for their actions because of their own countries appalling handling of Israel, then you wouldn't have many who'd be allowed to speak up.

Not many countries have taken their kiddie gloves off when it comes to Israel's genocide. However some of those countries have other values that are closer to my own than others.

Since you're already hellbent on moving the goalpost, how about we flip this back to you. What country, state or collective has a better moral compass and has handled Israel's atrocities well?

  • We won't be dragged into this? Well they don't get to make that choice. Russia already dragged everyone into this when they invaded a sovereign nation. You can't really claim indifference to an invasion, that's the same as condoning it. I agree with a lot of other people on this thread. Suspend them until they prove their moral compass aligns with ours. Now they're just working to hinder our democracy

  • From Europe. That's the thing. Even if the democrats win with a somewhat sensible candidate in 4 years it's not like the US are to be trusted any time soon. Should we build bridges and rely on intelligence transfer, trade agreements, military cooperation etc just for them to leave us hanging again 4 years after that? A large part of the US clearly see us as adversaries or even enemies, not allies.

  • Ever since the run up to Trumps first presidency I think you would agree that the republican party has become increasingly unhinged. And how has the democrats responded? With civility (in most cases.) And where has that got them? Your democracy is being dismantled, oversight removed, aid removed, trade wars with allies, etc. They got here by arguing in good faith, by being civil and not wanting to be labelled a reactionary.

Oh, and if you honestly believe you're no better if you're being reactionary towards fucking nazi saluting cunts, then fuck you. From the bottom of my heart, get absolutely fucked

  • They've gone to the election spouting claims immigrants are eating peoples pets, that they're going to evict them all etc. If you've paid any attention to the run up for the election and yet claim they're not voting for racist politics I really don't know what to tell you.

They're racists. Voting for the republican party because they're spouting racist claims, backing it up with nazi salutes and racist acts.

She's not being a rabid animal. She's calling it for what it is. You're not obliged to use kiddie gloves with these cunts

  • Aside from China and the Philippines, Brunei, Malaysia, Vietnam and Taiwan have overlapping territorial claims in the busy sea passage.

Now I don't have in-depth knowledge about this particular dispute, but to say the US is invading the China sea seems dishonest to say the least. As far as I can understand it seems they're honoring a defence agreement after the Philippines military aircraft were fired flares upon, in what they consider their territory.

If you do have unbiased sources saying the US and the Philippines are invading Chinese territory, please share it
