A pile of sand has to be cone shaped. Anybody who didn't take a conical shape in mind for their answers should be disqualified instantly, i.e. 3. As it would take at least 4 grains of sand to get to a piramidal shape. Which would be somewhat close to conical. But still unrecognisable as a pile. I think a minimal height of 5 grains should be achieved. At an angle of 34 degrees, that's around 500 grains.
Maybe we're f-ed maybe not. Feeling sorry for yourself isn't going to do shit though, is it?
You're just spiralling into a depression at this point. All the while most of the things are completely outside of your control. You want to turn into the 'old man shaking fist at clouds' meme? Stop it.
Chances of a ww3 are incredibly low. Why? Because of the dependency on the global supply chain. Stuff is made from stuff shipped from all over the planet. Food, electronics, clothes, etc. We cannot just turn that off, and set up the infrastructure at home....build factories, have workers, have the raw materials... It's incredibly complicated. We are already a global society.
Consider all the shit that is happening 'ironing out the kinks', we all know that the perfect future is fully automated gay space communism. Just try and be on the right side of history when you can help it.
I don't think you're considering that bad things happen to good people. Everyone should have the right to easy access to healthcare.
It's toxic Christianity to believe prayer and being a good person will get you favors with God and grant some kind of immunity to bad things. Bad things happen and it's okay to feel bad, to have mental problems, to burn out, mourn, worry, etc.
It's toxic consumer ideology to believe that people are inherently greedy, as it makes you consume more. There is no reason to believe this at all. It's simply a justification for over consumption in a capitalist system that defines your worth to your wealth.
I'm not trying to make the point that mental Healthcare is some kind of panacea. Mass killings happen everywhere. But I do strongly believe that the rate at which it happens will be drastically reduced by a good system of care.
It's a lot simpler that that. I mean not the cause of mass killings. That's never a single factor but a range of mental health issues, a combination of things leading to the act. Impossible to predict.
The main issue is the shocking lack of mental health care. The inability for most to speak to someone at an early stage. There is no (coordinated) safety net.
No. Not because it's impossible. But, mainly because it's only after it goes past court that you're actually 'pinned'. So you're going to have to be certain that will happen, otherwise the political fall out isn't worth it.
Also let me remind you that the guy shot at a crowd so he was already applying for ending his life in prison. There is no need to turn it into some wicked conspiracy where the feds needed to pin him..
I'm absolutely not in a financially privileged position, income wise. I'd say I'm in the bottom 30th percentile. Far less than median income.
My privilege is living in an affluent western country with affordable healthcare. And only if you're outside of the western world could I understand having to make different choices.
And by the way... Shouldn't especially affluent people be making these choices? Why the hell would we force homeless people to only buy linen. It's the people who make the most who have the highest impact.
Yes. I usually join several cleaning groups per year, cleaning thrash from nature. I also don't buy cheap plastic clothing (basically stop caring about fashionable trends) and repair as much as possible. I think about packaging when buying stuff, which I btw also limit as much as possible. Our waste stream is extremely low, with 95% going into recycling and upcycling.
I live a comfortable modern life, these are minor adjustments everybody can and should be able to make.
Always keep in mind that apathy and fomo are part of capitalist consumer ideology.
I know several people with autism diagnosis. They all have ups and downs, problems and victories, joy and sadness. But they all are liked among friends and at work. It's usually family (parents) that is the most likely source of shit.
A few things you would want to pursue are a healthy relationship and a curated friend group. That takes a while, as you can imagine.
The fear of not belonging or doing something strange and being judged, or fear of not seeing a hidden agenda... It's something that you're going to have to work on. You are the way you are. It's going to hinder you and it's going to help you, you can't predict that.
There is no such thing as 'more deadly'. The adverse effects of smoking to your health are known. The adverse effects of nanoplastics and accompanying compounds are less well known.
If you are concerned with your health than actually be concerned with your health, stop doing unhealthy shit with any frequency. Eat plantbased, exercise, get yourself checked out at a doctor, do a blood test. You know what a healthy lifestyle looks like. Do that.
This is the only real answer. Targeted advertising is more effective (actually true), therefore you can ask more money for it.
