  • I've looked into this because people do keep them as pets... one of the problems is you can't have just one, ideally they'd be a small herd. And they need somewhere to go swimming and a lot of exercise, and they don't handle cold well...

They're good pets in the same way that a herd of goats are good pets. Some people have the situation where they absolutely could have a a few capybaras but they'd be miserable in a Manhattan apartment.

  • updater software for my car

Can I just point out that there was a point in time in living memory where this statement would be utterly deranged? (And it'll probably soon be unusual again because of OTA updates...)

  • They usually get escorts, which actually isn't the same thing as a hooker and not all of them actually do sex work. I have no idea why I know anything about that, but it was something I was just kinda aware of as a young adult.

  • No, actually, but general cultural awareness is really only those two, and maybe iffy on Pathfinder, and given the popularity of Stranger Things, D&D had a lot of mainstream attention, and Pathfinder is arguably a better place to start for newbies interested due to Stranger Things. As far as I understand. I've never actually played either D&D or Pathfinder, but I have been in Vampire the Masquerade and Serenity tabletop groups.

  • Your comment made me finally get around to setting up Homecoming (hooray WINE!) and I just got to the character creation screen... I haven't played since before it went to free to play what is all of this stuff? Oh well, I'm sure I'll feel like I've come home once I'm running sewers, lol.

  • I think the smaller aircraft crashes like this one, which weren't uncommon before, are getting more visibility because of the high profile accidents at the beginning of the year - these stories are getting clicks so they're getting spread further and by larger news outlets, so they're getting more clicks...

I didn't have numbers, but I'd be surprised if this year was looking significantly worse than last year.

  • Truth is you can go a decade and never even see a gator.

... How? I grew up near Orlando, and seeing a smaller alligator next to an apartment complex retention pond or just in a random lake was extremely common. The week I moved away from Florida, some kid was killed by an alligator in the lake I learned to water ski in, although people being killed by alligators is extremely uncommon, they're generally pretty chill and don't go after animals that are bigger than them.
