  • True. Also, core beliefs are all equally unbased and irrational. The desire for growing trees and saving lives is equal in this way to the desire to nuke humanity away. There's no rational foundational ground to either of these things, we just evolved to care for ourselves and our surroundings because it ensures our survival and passage of the genes. That's how the concept of good won, not because it's any more rational than evil.

Personally, my core belief is that all people are fundamentally good and should be treated equally with love, care, respect and dignity. Thereby, I adopt ideologies that promote full economic and social equality, namely socialism/communism.

  • There is an upside to the rigidity of thought that ideologies bring - a person is less likely to be confused into something batshit crazy, at least if their initial conviction ain't that.

Most people are not history/politics grads and their opinion can be manipulated relatively easily as they don't have a very solid knowledge base to counter the presented evidence.

Without ideology, we'd have people switching between socialism and fascism in no time.

  • It's often tempting to say "this X is screwed, let's start all over again". But deep relationships are not formed that way.

Between any people, there will be points of tension, and if this calls you to quit, you risk never to get to the point of stable long-lasting relationships.

May it be that they need to break up? Yes. Does it have to be? No.

  • Depending on age, but generally, go from small to big.

Something like: "You know that sometimes people disagree and become angry at each other? A good way to solve it is to speak it through and find a common ground. But that doesn't always happen, and some people start a fight - I know you've seen that happening in your life.

But sometimes it's not just John and Jane - those can be the leaders of countries and groups, too. When people commanding others cannot find a common ground, a fight can be very brutal, and many innocent people may get hurt. Sometimes it leads to a war, but sometimes it gets more sneaky.

Sometimes, armies are not sent on a battlefield. People are sent as civilians, but they are actually armed, and can kill many innocent people around them. This is terrorism.

The goal of terrorism, however, is not necessarily to kill as many people as possible, but to make everyone scared. When you don't know whether the person next to you carries a bomb, it is scary indeed. Because of that, our country has special forces that find and arrest terrorists before they do any harm, so nowadays terrorist attacks are very rare, and really, you don't have to worry much about it. Stick it to them!"

  • Nope, not proud as in "yay I'm so happy to be male". Proud as in "I'm a male and there's nothing bad about it or the wording around it, I'm happy to be who I am without shitting on anyone being different"
