You quoted the part where they said most people, but you're replying as if they said most parents.
Anyway, you'd hope people who don't know all that would learn better after the kid comes out, but I know some people don't. I can name two off the top of my head.
Moving delayed again due to weather. Also honestly I'm not sure why family keeps offering to help me move. Their vehicle has cargo space, sure, but it's one vehicle between five adults, and very few of them know how to drive so that really limits when it's actually available for me to borrow.
They're just gonna have to evict me and throw all my shit down the stairs and break it like they do with my neighbors.
Had to cancel an art collab I'll never have another chance to do, because I live in one apartment and my computer is in the other.
Skin infection isn't going away but my insurance rejects every test I get, so I'm done trying.
Had either COVID or the flu, but it was the week of a major US holiday and they were disciplining people for calling out, so I worked all week. Got publicly shamed for my terrible metrics while I was too phlegmy to speak.
Basically, next week HAS to be good.
ETA at least I'm back at the gym, although I feel terrible after being out for two weeks. I was so sick I was just working and sleeping for a while.
Phone and wallet in back pockets, utility knife and earbuds in side pockets.
Other stuff I need frequently like bug spray, sunblock, power bank, extra sketchbook and selfie stick (not necessarily for selfies, I just like photography) are in a backpack in my passenger seat.
I'm always curious because I stopped carrying a purse as it made me feel more femme than I like, and since then I've wondered how dudes get through the day with only their pockets.
Not big on generation labels though, they feel like a failed experiment. People are born every day of every year and our experiences overlap in a gradient. They don't separate into distinct portions.
The baby boom was an actual phenomenon, but every label afterwards feels arbitrary.
I have family in their 30s and 40s who do that 😭 I wonder if people subconsciously trust TikTokers more than other social media users since they usually show their faces.
Ugh, the second one... I used to lurk on relationship subreddits instead of just watching soap operas like a normal person, and it's wild how quickly people jump to divorce. And if the OP makes an update where they talked it out, a lot of the commenters get mad.
I don't know that they're kids, but it wouldn't surprise me.
I'll have to keep an eye out for more! I actually found it on /r/OCDMemes and was pleasantly surprised because the rest of the subreddit was as depressing as you'd expect 🥲
I automatically read that sentence in AoStH Robotnik's voice. I don't know if he ever even said that, he's just the ultimate example of the Card-Carrying Villain in my mind.
I think the absurdity is part of the joke, but you sound like me in that you enjoy your fiction in an incredibly literal way. I remember being into cartoons as a kid and needing grounded explanations for everything even though the characters' lives essentially reset every 30 minutes.
My mom let all her kids go to school while living at home and paying very little towards bills. I really wanted to, but my older siblings convinced me not to. They couldn't drive, so they'd have to drop out, and it's not fair for the younger one to go to school first. But if I wait my turn, they'll be able to help me.
Yeahhhh, my turn never came. I got disillusioned and moved out. I could never afford to go to school now. I don't think any of them ever used their degrees anyway.
Every day I wish I'd told them to shove it, and done what I wanted to do.
Glad your cat is OK! Good on you for making sure he gets the care he needs.
