  • Depression isn't the same thing as sadness, and I wouldn't be surprised if it disqualifies someone from being an astronaut. Most people don't have depression, but everyone feels sadness at some point in their lives.

To answer your question, astronauts are trained to work under extreme stress, so they would know how to compartmentalize the pain and focus on completing the mission. Similar to soldiers.

  • Nothing to worry about unless you've signed a contract with someone. Normally when you sign with a record label you're selling them the rights to your music, so they could sue you if you try to give it away or sell it without them being involved. Record labels are known to be pretty predatory...

  • In case anyone missed it, I found this comment interesting (from the blog, not Lemmy):

Brian you can also find this Finn Grimpe character has a court case under his company ‘HostPlanet’ from 2016. Looking into this more, it was known since then that he was the owner.

He was likely turned and made it into a honeypot ever since considering he and florian (aka “Jason”) have not been arrested and only a single admin was.

  • No, it doesn't depend on the router. The device can either send traffic to other devices on the internet or it can't. If the device can ping something on the internet, then it is connected to the internet. It's a tautology.

  • Huh? I said they're somewhat common in rural areas. Pavement princesses are also common in rural areas. But I also see bull bars on Jeeps, SUVs, etc. so I wouldn't automatically associate them with the pavement princess crowd.

You mention ranchers and police, but didn't mention anything about large wildlife which is what this thread is about. Not sure what pedestrian safety has to do with it, but it think it's obvious from looking at them that a plastic bumper would hurt less.

  • Not entirely true... If you write libraries for other developers you can use them as beta testers. Your customers have a production environment, but you don't. At least, that's what one of our vendors seems to think...
