  • Seems odd to say

And don't @ me about "100 corporations are responsible for like 90% of emissions". Who's buying those corporations' goods?

People bringing up the 100 corporations are usually calling for regulations on them, and the "you're the ones buying the goods" people are usually calling for Personal Responsibility and Voting With Your Wallet.

  • They really don't, not that I've seen anyway. Just stuff like this article that's 10% them doing something perfectly reasonable and 90% people going "they just feel shady!"

If you can show me actually shady stuff they've done, I'm happy to change my mind.

Usually when I ask this, it's something like "they do ads!" to which the obvious reply is "yeah they tell you that upfront".

  • I was just refuting / giving context to this:

For the entire US, personal vehicles are the largest source of emissions.

A lot of the fuckcars types think banning cars will fix the climate, just like vegans think banning meat will fix the climate. I was trying to head off any comments in that direction.

We need to do all of the things.

  • Wrong phrase, dumbass.

    Black people are Black people

People of color are anyone not white, including Black people

If you want to say something about the Black community, you say "Black" rather than "people of color" because you're not talking about Latinos or Indians or whatever, you're talking about Black people.

At no point do you ever say a word that has a history of usage as a slur by racists.

Ugh and here I fell into the trap and went and typed a response that you're just going to ignore
