Ontario happens to have been where a lot of joijt research facilities for nuclear energy were started. The US and Canada invested a lot of money into southern ontario nuclear plants and enrichment centres during and after ww2.
The other provinces have great geography that allows for Hydro to work. Ontario happens to be really geologically stable so it's prime real-estate for Nuclear plants.
Tell me about it. I can feel the rumblings of something awful coming for Canada. All because if this bullshit down south. Our rights are being threatened because of reactionary politics. Half the people I work with can't seperate Canadian politics from American. They think it's all the same.
Drives me up the wall.
Sunflower oil gang rise up!
Great cooking versatility, great flavour for fried foods, high smoke point, cheap as heck.
I was reading that the devs specifically did a revamp to map the deep control scheme for the Deck. So the answer to your questions is most likely yes.
What's really funny is that's how socialised healthcare works. We all pool money together based on income and it goes into this neat little fund that ensures no person ever goes without healthcare.
Corporations like United Health can't profit from this so they've been working and lobbying lawmakers in my country and others for decades to gut the public health and education sectors to cause more deaths and get a foothold for private care.
In my eyes this is a corporate act of war and should be condemned to the highest degree. Our forefathers died in trenches to prove our worth and ensure we could practice this social democracy. American terror organisations sow doubts in the minds of my people and poison the waters of meaningful progress.
There is calculable effect on the people of my country in housing, health and education because of these profiteering fucks. These predatory animals could disappear tomorrow and nobody would give a flying fuck.
The legend of grimrock 1,2. I have pages of notes and a hand drawn map on gridpaper for them!
That's fair.
But this post posits that we do need to get philosophical as does your initial post. By claiming there's "theoretical allyship" we call into question the efficacy of small actions performed by allies and serve to weaken the cause.
Any action is action. No matter how small.
Because you stated that, on the presumption their actions prevented transphobia, that person would be an ally. But that presumption can only be fact checked by themselves anyway; Does this not mean then, that a person should have the right to label themselves an ally if they self-assess their actions as allyship?
Or does someone have to ally-check each of their actions once performed with some sort of... council or committee, as I have here?
So in your opinion indirect action may as well be inaction?
Say I have coworkers with certain opinions on gendering people, use of pronouns or who still use dated terms like "Tranny" or "Shemale".
I spend my days correcting them when they misgender or reminding them of acceptable words to describe people. I have political discussions where we come to terms about how LGBT rights are human rights. They've corrected their behaviour and now speak of LGBT folks in a kinder light.
I don't directly see how those actions affect LGBT folks. I don't have tangible evidence I have made a person's life better through my actions.
Am I an Ally or not?
No worries mate! Canadian wartime history is a very interesting one. It's actually surprising how much stories and actions like those above lead to Canadian Sovereignty. The distaste for war, slaughter and bloodshed is basically what lead to Canada declaring war, on its own, with Canadian officers at the helm during ww2.
Feels like dealing in absolutes to me.
You're either all in or not in at all.
"If you don't support the troops feel free to stand in front of them."
Can't I just be outspoken in my social circles and attempt to affect change at the lowest levels, thus spreading my message amongst people I can relate to?
Nope. Sign petitions and call politicians or you're just a poser.
Or so this post seems to say.
What is allyship to you?
Does one need to be overtly politically active or can one simply change minds in their social circles?
Must they sign petitions and call politicians or can they simply be a comforting or understanding shoulder to a marginalised person?
How much legwork is required to be an Ally? Is there a scorecard to keep in order to meet criteria?
Obviously, passive acceptance without any action isn't explicit allyship but must one be openly militant about LGBT issues in order to be considered an ally?
Does the real answer not lie somewhere in between? Maybe on a spectrum or sliding scale?
Oooh there's one for my bingo card. Comment to Nazis in one.
Who is part of this puppet government and who would take over after they leave? Who should take over in your eyes.
You're so focused on one goddamn aspect of Ukrainian history you can't look past the Red and Gold tinted glasses.
Who created the conditions which allowed Ukrainian Nazis to come to power? Who created the conditions that lead to people taking up arms against the soviets? Who created the conditions that forced the Ukrainian people of the 1940s to idolise bad people? Who created the conditions today that have prevented spiritual healing in Ukraine necessary to look introspectively at their history and heroes?
Why would a nation perpetually at war with an asshole neighbour be drawn to idolising isolationist and xenophobic leaders?
Do you stop to think before your fingers type out the most braindead, fox news pundit, podcast clippable bullshit or do you just lack the ability to understand Cause and Effect?
Do you understand why a nation at war for three centuries might idolise war criminals?
Do you understand why freedom fighters are labeled terrorists?
Do you understand what it means to fight for survival by any means necessary?
I don't think you understand how horrifying nation building is. How bloody and disgusting the history of the world can be. Every single hero you can name did horrible. Horrible things in the name of their cause.
This is not a justification of Nazi ideals. This is a lesson on how downtrodden people will cling to any ideology possible if it means living to see tomorrow. Especially when the alternative is famine, rape and slaughter.
Once these conditions are solved, Ukraine can start to heal.
You fail at a fundamental level to understand any sort of subtlety beyond "But... but muh statues." Shut the fuck up. You probably live in a nation still erecting statues of people who fought against their own government and you likely make the "states rights" argument anytime that's brought up. Where's your outrage for civil rights abuses in your own nation?
What are you trying to prove with this article?
That several groups could no longer substantiate weapons bans to Azov because they could not find any long lasting or significant ties to hate crimes or Gross Violations of Human rights originally tabled by the Kremlin?
This article is further evidence that Russia used Azov's early ties to Ukrianian Nationalism in the East as as a tool to claim Ukraine is a Nazi state.
If that alone is evidence to condemn the whole of Ukraine then this image is enough to condemn the whole of Russia.
You keep trying to provide evidence that russia's claims are true but your evidence simply proves my point.
I think Ukrainians are erecting statues of people who fought for their liberation. We can villainise them from the outside and one day a more progressive Ukraine will be able to speak to that more.
As of right now, Russian aggression prevents Ukraine from being able to move forward and discuss their bloody history because their present is still bloody thanks to Russia.
By the Soviet Union's efforts you mean Ukraine's efforts under the soviet banner right?
Major eastern offensive performed by over a million ukrainian conscripts.
Soviet forces being composed of over 4.5 Million Ukrainians with nearly 1 Million additional Ukrainian partisans against the Nazis? Largely outnumbering the pitiful 250,000 Ukrainian supporters of the Nazis.
I'd also remind you that these are the accomplishments of a United Soviet Union held together by the suffering of satellite states like Ukraine. Not the efforts of the withering shadow of a cumstain that remains known as Russia.
Because there is no widespread Nazism in Ukraine. I asked you to prove it, you provided the article as proof but the article refuted your point. You then said it was apologist. So which is it? Irrefutable evidence supporting the kremlin's position or Apologism?
What about the US Congress lifting the ban on arming Nazis in order to arm Ukraine. Were they also engaging in Kremlin propaganda?
Hmm let me wrack my brain here. You'll have to point me to the specific wording. The US congress literally said "Nazis can use our weapons"? Or is Nazi a label that Russia has attributed to certain fighters and you're now repeating?
"It's Geralt." -Geralt
