  • I mean, for a phone yeah, but a small, relatively cheap waterproof device with a battery under a watt will probably start having issues at 5 years, more likely much before that. Waterproofing something that small will probably not be easy after replacing the battery, so while you probably will be able to eventually, it probably will be a little more fragile afterwards. I've got a fitbit, and I've seen the videos of replacing the 0.25 watt battery, would for sure doubt it's water resistance afterwards, probably easier to replace.

  • He doesn't. But neither does the US, which increasingly seems to be the point. He's clearly playing out a Russian objective of alienating us from our allies. Don't know if it's totally Russia, or maybe China funding behind Russia, but its very bad outcome for the US.

  • Then maybe Harris and her team should have listened to some feedback about their widely unpopular stance that seemed to somewhat equate them with the Republicans during an election which they absolutely couldn't afford to be seen as remotely similar to republicans.

  • It would be in theory, but mostly it's just spread around as how any protest against Israel cost the democrats the US election (despite how it was considered widely unpopular to support Israel's genocide by most democrats).

  • Yeah, it's used in a lot of different cultures' foods. Like it you eat Indian or Vietnamese food, theres a decent chance it could be there, not just Mexican, which is what I think a lot of people think of when cilantro is used in cooking.

  • That sucks. I just made some enchiladas with diced cilantro stem last night (more flavor in the stem). Don't feel bad, I'm sure they don't mind when they realise it tastes bad to you. Now I'm just sad you don't get to enjoy the true taste of cilantro.

  • I think it's just that they are more obvious here, so it led to a popular use term. Bigger issue is that they can be kinda annoying and I suspect it might only grow their numbers if they are the default community that potential redditors have as their first experience in lemmy.

  • Conclave (2024). Don't watch too many movies these days, made an exception for this one because it was recommended by a few friends, and it didn't disappoint. The acting is what makes it stand out, not necessarily the plot (basically a bunch of Cardinals squabbling about who is to be the new pope, with much infighting and backstabbing).

  • Yes, but if a phone isn't on AT&Ts whitelist you can't even get a data connection. It's bs for sure (the phone can use the same bands), but it means you can't register it with AT&T, and I'm not going back on anything like sprint.
