  • Yes, you can do that, but remember that if there is a critical problem that forces the complete current into the ground wire, rare. the ground wire from a smaller socket is also likely to be smaller gauge wire. You will likely end up with the same problem of not having a ground wire as the donor ground could just burn up. You can reduce the possibility of the donor socket ground wire from burning by not allowing anything else to use the socket/wireloop(if there is more than one socket using the same breaker switch).

This is not proper electrical code, but there is no reason to stop using these cords as the possibility of catastrophic failure from causing much harm. As usual, I would err on the side of safety and suggest getting a professional to work on it and using the proper socket for the plug.

  • If you take a look at the socket, the ones with three prongs are not recommended but it is possible they were installed with a 4th wire in the cable but the socket is 3 prong. I replaced my 3 prong socket with 4 prong one (the 4th wire is ground, crazy stupid to not use it.) Cheap and 26 amps at 220-240 volts.

  • You could memorize how many emojis vs. a long number. Say you got 5 💀, 2 🇹🇼, 3 👀, and 7 💩 or take a special number like a pin and attribute emojis to each digit. Doesn't matter how you remember it, password manager or not, the added digits are great to have as there are more symbols to crack. This makes common passwords less common as there is a possibility that there is a larger pool of common passwords that dilute the probability table.("flattening" a bell curve) This is a smaller increase in the amount of work needed to go through a dictionary, custom made, standard, or list of leaked common passwords. However, it is beneficial to create large delays in password cracking for situations where the attack is done at a large scale vs. a targeted approach.

Limiting to integer may not seem like a good idea, but the symbols and digits are all converted to binary either way. So instead of integers, why not just cut the middle man and just have it all be binary in the first place? 128 bits can provide 2^128 unique values to use. A computer can easily make a random number, and the use of a password manager can save it. After this, it turns into a key signing system, cryptography. In the end, passwords are dumb and we want to use them because we like the feeling of knowing the secret magic phrase/word that can be easily be shared through most forms of communication, especially verbal.

Sorry about the rant/brain dump. I just wrote whatever came to mind

  • If it was Linux that had open-source software that could be updated independently by forking it, then this EOL BS would never be a thing, but nope, proprietary stuff gets execs get hard as rocks

  • Me too, wish it was for making game play easier instead of an arbitrary game play mechanic that forces you to play a certain way. I am happy that factorio is very easily mod able, and you can install mods that expand or remove limits on players.

This sounds promising. Dustproof. I dont think waterproofing the air channel will be necessary. This can be used as a way to create a channel for air to pass through without compromising the waterproof seal for the phone internals. The air channel can be a pass through and offers a big benefit in cooling. If there is blockage or damaged fins(I think they are vibrating fins.), then the phone will get warm and automatically throttle. A repair will not be needed unless you want the full performance. I live in the hot desert, and active cooling would be a dream come true. Every high-end phone gets hot to the touch from using GPS or streaming outside.

Edit: Another note is that most people don't beat up their phones with high-pressure water(dirty or clean). If that was the case, then the phones water seal would suffer or be compromised as they are water resistant to low pressure and may not seal against high pressure.

    Thin and flat too!

  • But they are not incentivized to grow numbers exponentially like shareholder funded companies. They make money from community involvement and value-added services. Instead, they removed these type of contents because they felt like those communities needed to reform their overall community personality. In the end, it is all a community effort to help one another. now that users have switched, there is less legal pressure, and the people who moved have helped make these other servers better. It was a win-win for us. I am grateful to all the people who made the move and participated in posting to their respective communities.

Also, this helps lessen the host cost on them. Lastly, a federated community is not the same as these mega corps.

  • I personally think if you are writing code and you reference outside your memory space, then you should receive an error. I guess a null is already considered an error value, but I think notifying why you got a null would be great.

    NA is not applicable or?
    I don't like this approach

  • Yet all the issues on Windows are not painful to work with? It seems like Linux issues are becoming largely simple as using a more up to date distribution like fedora. Could try to replicate the steam os configuration to get better gaming performance and stability. The biggest thing about Linux is that you are in control. There are too many people who don't want to have any control and act like pets to these corporations.

  • I dont like people who intentionally create mischief and chaos in orderly systems. Personally, I do not think ad networks, their offerings, quality control and freedom of use is capable to a level in which it can be considered an orderly system. It is already too chaotic in my eyes. Threat actors can already target and cause more chaos to many of these metrics that ad nauseum targets. It is insignificant to my eyes to use ad nauseum or block its use. To even think about the moral and ethical implications is too obtuse when ad systems are already clearly pushing those boundaries

  • Alternatively, buy a plot of land from an area less desired by the general public. Have the house built yourself, and move in. House buying is not smart unless you are pressed for time, which is not a smart way of handling it as you should take your time with houses.

Buying a house or land in an area that is saturated with demand is also unwise. Live within your means. Most who are able to afford land and house are more than capable of affording more time away from the job or remotely work. If your job requires a lot of your time, then it is more wise to just rent a small room and take vacations outside the area. There are a lot of factors in place when you consider a house, and you made great examples.

I am sorry about the interest rate. A 6.5% rate is not the worst but disadvantageous because, historically, most ROI for safe investments are 5%. This means it is more beneficial to pay off the house than it is to diversify while you are paying the house. Which is bad because you should be diversifying your portfolio. My sister has a 2% interest rate, she is so lucky and I tell her to diversify instead of putting all her money towards paying off the house.

  • My problem is I removed overdraft protection, and this causes PayPal to literally panic and shoot my bank with multiple requests. I still get hit with the $35 overdraft fee, and PayPal gets rejected. I rejected the overdraft cash the bank can use to pay the overdraft charges and will still apply the dam fee. I hate banks so much.
