  • Tory government investing in nuclear energy?

Nah boris and his lot would rather get bungs from the local lads and keep us in the dark ages.

Labour aren’t exactly gonna do it either with Tory lite candidates atm. We are well and truly proper fucked.

  • I don’t think I would want to live in a world without cheese.

  • I think only endeavour and Manjaro still hold any use of the arch based distros.

Endeavour generally has nice tools and is pretty much what you’d do with the install script so it just saves a few steps.

Manjaro because it’s a gateway into learning arch for better or worse.

But other than those two I don’t see the point of any other arch distros other than to be made for the sake of it.

(I forgot steam os 3, but that’s a different topic)

  • My Reddit account was 2013 so just about 10 years this month when I left.

  • I mean it's not that complicated, while people may recognise it was a mistake to vote to Leave there's no way in hell they'll ever admit publically it was a mistake and support the movement to rejoin the EU.

Maybe if the Tory party remains gutted as a non-threat for a couple of elections, we can test the waters with the idea. However, the moment any party even suggests it, the Tories will throw up a party of Brexit stuff and knock them out of any election.

  • Yeah I use phones on a daily basis as a part of my job everything from apple to Samsung to one plus etc

  • I wateched strange new worlds and played Stellaris so I guess Star Trek infinite lol

  • Agreed, I didn't mind Kirk being in A Quality of Mercy or Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow. However, him being in this episode just felt he was in it for the sake of it.

  • Honestly, they're horrible I can't believe people still buy them when wanting an Android experience. They come with so much bloat now and it just feels jank constantly.

I'd never recommend them to anyone but then again, Google Pixel devices aren't much better due to how unstable they are and you're essentially beta testing the phones as you go. Big part of the issue with Android phones these days.

  • Hey at least the top gun sequel was actually good. I don't think Sequels should be branded as crap movies by default, Sure F&F X and so forth are garbage but there are some genuinely good sequels too.

  • Chilli sauce, or I could just say just any hot sauce in general so Chilli/Pepper sauce because it works on practically everything.

  • I refused to buy Apple products for 15 years. Recently I grabbed a whole set of them and honestly, there's only one thing I can say. It just fucking works.

I've been using Linux/Windows for the better part of two decades and I'm just at a point where I don't care to tinker anymore unless I have to, I just wanna have stuff that works especially when it's related to work stuff. Apple stuff is just reliable in that sense, oh my Android phone decided to crash on itself? Yeah my iPhone has had 0 crashes all year I've owned it. My M2 Macbook Air has superior battery life and portability at a more reasonable price than pretty much any competitor on the market?

Yes certain Apple things are beyond stupid expensive, Hello Apple TV 4K 128gb being £180 on launch?

But when I want something to work and not have to think about it, the apple stuff fits that need.

  • What would you describe as large?

The company I work for is a multinational at this point and exclusively uses Google for Mail/Docs. We have I think 600 stores now across 12 countries.

  • $29k before tax and manager fees as an actor for 6 months of work really does not seem worth it, how on earth is that possible?

  • Usenet guy here so no real ratio, my downloads for this month so far are:

The total is since end of Feb iirc.

  • That's how I felt about it myself, they knocked it out of the park.

  • I’m already locked in, I have to use google products daily for work as my work email and drive is all done through google. There’s no moving off that unless I leave my job and even then there’s no guarantee.

    Fuck man, this blows.

  • This episode is one of the best episodes in the modern era of Trek, it's lighthearted it's funny it celebrates Trek and it's done so tastefully that I genuinely have nothing bad to say about it. It reminds me of Trials and Tribble-ations.

Plus that line at the end where they tell Una ad astra per aspera and that's why boimler joined Starfleet is just the right kind of emotions.

Honestly, they smashed it in this episode and ofc the 2d animated intro was chefs kiss.
