  • I follow a couple people like Hempuli (Baba Is You dev), Internetarchive, and David Revoy (Pepper & Carrot comic creator). Really depends on what you wanna follow. I follow them because I'm interested in their work in one way or another.

  • Chose each other and are good enough people. They have recently been maybe a little more stressed over money troubles due to their bank account/my mom's cards being targeted (and I swear they refuse to change banks only because my dad's job goes through them), but overall are about the same as always.

  • I've been playing it off and on since maybe 2016-18 (somewhere within that range), so a pretty long time for me, but Pokemon Rejuvenation.

If you don't mind swearing, death, and generally kinda edgy stuff, it's a fun enough game with a lot of content. 15 out of 18 badges (one per type) are currently available, with a very long story to go with it.

Just started over on my Steam Deck, making this my umpteenth time starting over, because I felt like it and wanted to do a grass only run, similar to my fire only run. Also, unlike just about every other RPGMaker XP fangame, the devs have a Linux version available, which has an appimage instead of the .exe file to run the game and have made a bash script to update the game to replace the .exe file for that. Wine not required to play at all!

  • If I could afford it, alongside other things I'd need to consider, at this point I'd definitely do it.

  • Just reported and blocked one myself.

  • If it was good old trying to weed out the commies McCarthyism, I'd be all down for it. Now I ain't because it ain't communism that's the enemy.

  • End of the year in December, a digital comic for Brok the Investigator is going to be released and I helped back it on Kickstarter, so I am at least getting a digital copy of it. Can't remember if I sprung for the physical release or not.

Also, I'm hoping the DLC they have planned, the Brawl Bar, comes out because I'm definitely purchasing it ASAP.

  • Sad that one of my favorite go-to sites for shows/movies is slowly dying. I hope the site gets itself together and can keep running.

  • Not enough college financial aid left for me to be able to, otherwise I'd have to look at my wishlist and see what's available for a good price.

  • Software that is both ridiculously easy to use and able to bypass any and all DRM schemes past, present, and future. As a firm believer that any form of computer (not including game consoles because I don't care about them) software that severely limits when, where, and how you can use your legally purchased games, movies, e-books, etcetera, should be outright illegal, this is my answer.

  • The first ever concert I ever went to November of last year I got super lucky. Headliner band, a local hometown Rock group, had a few different CDs for merch sales. All the other acts had vinyl if they were selling their music on physical media, which was a real bummer because I would have totally gotten a CD from one of the other acts I really liked.

I've also been seeing vinyl at walmart any time I am unfortunate enough to have to go there. It doesn't feel right. Totally agree on the space thing since I can currently fit all my CDs (for now) in a small drawer in my desk but would absolutely struggle to fit vinyl just about anywhere on/in my desk without it sticking out like a sore thumb.

  • I've heard from at least one smaller channels that it's a bullet heaven. That's at least what they call this style of game.

  • I've got a stubborn father. Years ago, back when our old family computer was working and was something we actually used, all I wanted to do was remove a simple toolbar from the single web browser we all used that might have been caused by a virus (probably caused by me being dumb) and uninstall something that caused it (also probably caused by my idiocy). This was around 2019.

The problem was my parents didn't want me on it all night so they had something like an admin password, but I figured it out long before this because they wrote it down in a notebook. The other problem is they didn't know I knew the password, so I didn't wanna let them know I knew it. Also, with the computer being in the living room, I couldn't just fix this at any point because my parents (at least one of them) were usually in the living room at any given time besides at night.

In the end, it pretty much devolved into me telling my father that I'm just trying to remove something that could actively harm our PC, but he refused to let me do it. Don't know if it was because he didn't wanna type the password or what, but it was a short shit show... until he finally relented and for a measly few seconds he had to enter a password instead of spending minutes fighting me on this.

  • Hopefully it'll come sometime this year, but definitely looking forward to the first ever DLC for Brok the Investigator (Brawl Bar) to release. Same with the comic they're working on that I helped fund that is coming at the end of the year in December.

  • I'd probably say something like my Sony Discman or any other CD player, if we're talking the general public. CDs aren't anywhere near as popular as they used to be thanks to streaming, but if you're collecting like I am, a dedicated CD player is a necessity.

  • Congratulate him on being bad and ask for advice on how not to be nervous when talking to strangers because clearly he's got to have gotten over that if he's an evil counterpart to me.

  • In order of hopeful least hopeful:

    1. I finally create my first ever original song using something like Vocaloid or UTAU. Would absolutely prefer Vocaloid because I tried v6 once and it was so much nicer than UTAU/OpenUTAU and so much easier.
    2. I actually finish a Wattpad series I started instead of letting it rot after I lose interest.
    3. Pokémon Empire (my absolute favorite fan game, just below Uranium) doesn't get nuked by Sintendo.
    4. The devs still working on Uranium finish the post game and let you capture the legendaries mentioned in the Tsukiyomi village museum(?).
    5. I finally get the remaining books in the Bakuman manga series and actually read the whole series. I've got the first 9 volumes, so I should hopefully be done at some point before the end of the decade, assuming my favorite place to go for used manga has the other 11 volumes at some point or doesn't close down.
  • At least with Vocaloid, all the voice actors(?)/singers(?)/providers(?) consent* to having their voices used for these voicebanks and aren't being duped into making a VB. At least I hope they aren't.

Also, there is a lot of human work put into making a vocaloid song, which will be something AI pop slop on the radio will have done everything they can to try to cut out to save money.

  • Absolutely no way it's gonna happen but the best play I could think of for this situation would be for Dems to not support it and then go on a social media tirade about how they did everything they could to stop a government shutdown. You know, do their best to make the other side look bad by slandering them with lies like how they wanted to cut all funding to public schools or something else ridiculous. Over 99% of people aren't gonna read the damn bill anyways and will probably take what is said at face value because of not reading it, as sad as it sounds.

Absolutely not gonna happen because the only US politician with any amount of spine I know of at this point is Bernie Sanders, but would be fun to see.

  • From my understanding, it's either client or server side software for online multiplayer games to try and prevent people from using 3rd party tools or hacks to gain an advantage from ruining the experience of other players. I can't give a more technical answer, though, as to how it works. Someone else would have to provide that.
