  • You really have to wonder what Putin and Russia's role in all of this has been.

Because it feels like us straining our relationships with Canada, the EU / NATO, and pushing BRICS countries further away, benefits them more than anybody else.

And certainly our economic might being sabotaged from within would benefit them and China on the world stage.

Especially when you consider the whole Mexico and Canada tariff saga was mostly just staged chaos that probably was never intended to do anything other than erode our reputation in the international community.

  • Wikler drew the public backing of former Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other big names like Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

To me that's concerning, because everything that has happened the last 20 years to empower the GOP had come at l on the watch of those two.

And I'm not sure either is willing to shake things up enough to truly bring about change.

I'd be interested to hear AOC's thoughts.

  • And lets also not forget he repeatedly claimed he knew nothing about Project 2025. Not the policies. Not the people behind it.

Now he's claiming a mandate to execute the plan he denied having any knowledge of.

    1. Participate or organize boycotts of companies that are enabling the Trump regime, starting with Elon Musk’s X and Tesla, and any companies that advertise on X or on Fox News

Don’t underestimate the effectiveness of consumer boycotts. Corporations invest heavily in their brand names and the goodwill associated with them. Loud, boisterous, attention-getting boycotts can harm brand names and reduce the prices of corporations’ shares of stock.

I'd take the Fox News piece a bit further and start boycotting sites like YouTube TV unless they put it on a pay tier. There are hundreds of thousands - if not millions - of people subsidizing Fox News through their streaming/cable subscriptions who have no intention of ever watching it.

  • Here's the problem though.

Was it obvious the whole thing was staged? Yup. Just like the McDonald's stunt from the summer and several others.

Do the people it's targeting know this? Nope. Because Fox News and the right wing media aren't reporting on how fake it was. They just show a few clips and talk about how the people of Greenland really really want to be part of the US.

And by the time the duplicity if fully reported on, the lemmings already believe it hook line and sinker.

  • I think the places that believe in it are telling that to their employees on the regular, just not boasting about it more broadly so they don't become a lightning rod.

A lot of folks firmly believe fostering a diverse, equitable and inclusive culture is ultimately good for your business. Aside from the points you and others have made about being able to attract more diverse customers, it also fosters an environment where people from different backgrounds can freely present their thoughts and opinions ultimately resulting in your company running better.

Compared to say Twitter where the opinion of only one white racist male matters, and I'm sure folks who used to feel inspired at work now feel trapped, unappreciated, and unable to truly innovate.
