  • Apparently, LibreOffice calls them "OLE Objects", which you insert under Insert→OLE Object→Formula Object. It uses its own syntax for it, and the preview's completely botched compared to what it actually looks like when you exit editing mode. (to rephrase that, the equation is normal after insertion, but when you edit it the preview is very wrong) It doesn't have shortcuts for many things like greek letters and the degree symbol, so you may need to learn compose sequences for these.

  • I tried to do that with the "published 8 years ago", but I see now how it wasn't clear enough. I've amended the first paragraph. (all the other paragraphs are quotes from the article, by the way) I couldn't find any further update other than one 13 years later, which you can read in a link in the first paragraph.

Edit: It's definitely gone, they've disabled "Active Content" which is non-basic JS in listings since 2017.

  • Using AI for this is just like a script kiddie using a better search engine. You still have to python3 virus.py/chmod +x virus.sh. I don't see the difference here.

  • Hmm, I was under the impression that Attorneys General could already sue whomever they want, success rates aside. Is that not the case?

  • That’s the pro pro, not the normal type

  • It's a rhetorical expression that says that the subject goes against the spirit of the franchise. There's no claim of authority in there, and I don't see why you think so.

  • Uh, I see the stuff with the politics stuff but... how is their opinion without explanation of Star Trek toxic?

  • that's the same list i just replied 7 minutes ago lol

most of these are blocked for incredible NSFW or MAGA. There are extremely few I don't understand, such as kbin.cafe and some foreign-language instances that seem okay.

I wish there was an anchor that just lets you skip to the bottom.

  • Looking at the list of blocked instances (scroll to the bottom), most of these are blocked for incredible NSFW or MAGA. There are extremely few I don't understand, such as kbin.cafe and some foreign-language instances that seem okay. Could you explain your rationale?

  • Is lemmy.world one that illegitimately blocks many communities?

  • Look at their profile. If anything, their political views are extreme in a way that fits most of Lemmy.

    Edit: Nevermind, check @Stamets

  • I just had a thought: is it legal for lawyers to say half-truths to get clients to use them more and thus earn more money?
