  • I've already addressed this. We have LBZ mods, and it's not the issue.

You're really testing my patience. If you're so desperate to unearth a flaw in our mod practices, make the next attempt count because I'm just about done engaging with you.

  • You don't see any reports from a non-local account.

Dude... This is a report from an LBZ user, a report against an LBZ user, and a report resolved by me from LW, and all three of these reports were viewed from my non-local account.

You could also have simply opened the modlog to see that you're wrong. 🤷‍♀️

If you continue to insult us or any other user on 196, we will take the appropriate action against it.

So you are telling us that even now you don't have a functional Blahaj account?

No, because up until yesterday I wasn't aware that Ada wanted us to have one. The only reason I know about the federation issue was a message I got from Qaz 7 months ago saying there were unresolved reports from SDF that we never got on LW or LBZ.

  • I understand, but it has nothing to do with our differences with Ada.

Also, we do use LBZ accounts :p One of our most active mods actually has their main (and possibly only) account there. Plus, Qaz has an alt there and many other instances just to deal with the federation issues. Moss's main account (head moderator) is also on LBZ. I would too if I weren't still waiting on my application to be read...

I don't think the problem stems from not using LBZ, because IIRC Qaz found loads of reports that could only be seen from SDF. I don't understand why, but what I do know is that federation can make a mess of things sometimes, and this is one of those things.

  • Ohh, dang my bad, I wasn't sure what you were getting at. I only knew him as the guy that posted the thing that everyone hated but turned out to not be an admin.

I'm...not sure what that means lol. But our agreement with Ruud was that we could moderate our community however we saw fit, so I think it's a moot point anyways. I have no reason to believe he would go back on his word.

And I'm sorry if I sounded frustrated. I am, honestly, but I didn't need to direct that at you.

  • We all check the modlog regularly. I do it ~5 days a week, on top of reading literally every post and the majority of the comments while I'm at it. The problem is federation, because it prevents us from seeing a complete log of the reports from any given instance.

And you know what? Fun fact!! LBZ was one of the first instances I ever signed up for. So perhaps if LBZ was the right instance to check reports from, it would have been super helpful for both parties if they accepted my application. I'm still waiting two years later.

I'm sorry if I sound frustrated. It's because I am. Not at you, I just don't know where else to say my peace. Thanks for listening.

  • Can you link me any examples? The report log is empty, and frankly I read every post most days of the week along with most of the comments, and I can't think of anything we haven't taken care of or wasn't taken care of swiftly.

  • I really don't mean any ill will!

As moss said, this is ideological differences in how low grade transphobia and queerphobia should be dealt with. moss is ok with community pushback for the low grade stuff rather than moderation, whereas I'll just remove it.

I agree, and that's all I'm trying to say. I didn't mean for any of that to be rude, but a lot of people are demanding an explanation and I'm just trying to be honest. We disagree about how to handle moderation and that's fine, I'm not trying to paint you as a bad mod.

And I'm sorry about not having an LBZ mod, I wasn't aware that we needed one. Federated communities are a new thing for me and I'm still learning.

I understand it may not seem like it, but we truly don't mean any ill will. There is none on our part, and I hope the same is true for you.
