  • Yeah other than my country falling apart my life is better at 39 than pretty much ever before. I'm genuinely happy. Again, other than the country stuff.

I damn sure wasn't happy and confident like this at 18 or whatever. I'm hitting my stride.

  • Oh 100%. I don't have dysphoria but think of myself as NB anyway. I'm comfortable in my body but I'm certainly curious. If transitioning weren't as difficult and costly? Yeah totally let's see what girl me looks like. I think I'd be fairly hot as a girl haha

  • In The Culture series by Iain Banks, gene modification is so advanced people can will themselves to change sex without surgery over I think some months. The process is so effective procreation is possible - one character, a male, loved being pregnant. So he'd transition, have a baby, and go back to being male every couple years. And it's just super normal. In fact, people who never change sexes are viewed as odd.

    Sigh

  • Hell yeah. I've got a "manlier" job than most people and I love smelling good. My wife and I share shampoo and I've used her body wash plenty.

Toxic roommate can @ me as I sit in my personal work van stocked with tools. Better yet he can hire me to fix his house 😂 or, I suppose, his landlord can hire me. Either way

  • I'm turning into a bog witch

I've let like half my yard grow out and turn into a de facto butterfly garden. I've got a birdbath where I leave shineys for the crow. It's going pretty well, I recommend it.

  • Free as in freedom!

Freedom to do whatever you want, however you want. Including brick your computer.

But honestly, modern distros are really smooth feeling. If you slapped Mint on just about any computer today it will run better and longer, and you'll quickly find that it's just as easy - if not easier - to use as Windows or MacOS.

Also its worth noting that MacOS and Linux share genetics that don't really matter to 99% of users, but if you want your Linux to look and feel like a Mac, you can do that very very easily.

Also the KDE Plasma DE is super fun and I'm addicted to it now
