  • This is another step in Project 2025

Provoke outrage with the mass deportations, then use that outrage to justify marshal law and deploying the military.

  • if ublock origin stops working, you can erase your youtube cookies or wait a few hours for a ublock origin update to work around it.

  • Ironic that just yesterday I was getting blocked on youtube telling me that adblocking was illegal/against tos/whatever and that if i didnt want Ads I could subscribe to Youtube Premium.. only now to announce ads on premium.

    What a fucking shithole company.

    edit

and they continue to take no accountability for failing to police their own ads, thus creating the essential need for adblocking services in the first place.

WE WOULDNT BE BLOCKING ADS IF YOU REGULATED ADVERTISERS LIKE YOU ARE TRYING TO REGULATE VIEWERS.

  • Could try Nobara, too.

its Fedora based, as well.. and I am a blithering idiot and had almost no issues with it.

  • This is why we don't need vaccines.

We just need gradual exposure to a lesser form of bullshit, so we can develop immunity to the greater whole of bullshit!

    /s

  • Except useless shit like this is increasing GPU prices.

So its not just a matter of preference or opinion. Its an economic matter, They are throwing useless bullshit "Features" into cards and jacking the prices up to cover for them.

  • Oh, believe me, I agree.. I agree so hard thats a worthy of a whole different post, lol.

Its capable of making pretty screenshots. But ultimately its a pointless tax that serves no real purpose besides artificially increasing the price of GPUs. . . because what better way to increase the price of a GPU than to start tacking other features onto it, Right nVidia?

  • I've had shit GPUs.

playing at lower res and settings gives a better image and performance than trying to upscale 540 to 1080p.

  • This is the real thing thats killing gaming and encouraging stupid prices.

Gamers with more money than sense, who absolutely, positively refuse to go without their precious shinies or wait even a goddamn microsecond to get them.

They're the same fuckups that bought scalped GPUs at 4x price, I said all over covid that as soon as covids over GPU makers are gonna start selling at those scalped prices.. and now look at nvidia, selling their gpus for 2-3 thousand dollars.. exactly what scalpers were paying for cards.

  • Realized you got talked into a corner, and rather than admit wrong you are gonna reply to every post with insults and insinuations?

  • I can 100% see where you are coming from, and understand your position on it.

but I, personally, liked all the extra stuff to do, cause it let me take breaks from the story lines and fuck around whenever I wanted. Not saying you are wrong, or that I am right.. Just a different preference. We can be, and both are, right for our perspectives of the game and how we wanted to play it.

  • Thats what I tell people.. if you want Civilization, get Civ 4. Everything after has just been a slow decline.

  • A company that has an absolutely nasty history with anti-competitive practices, that is only playing nice right now because its trying to launch a new product and exploiting low prices to build goodwill.

but.. if it fucks over AMD and nVidia and makes prices come crashing down like a landslide, its something I can accept. Just not going to, personally, have any delusions about them being for the consumers or heroes or anything.

So heres hoping Intel brings back the glory days of the 300 dollar GPU

  • Avocado

    Jump
  • not as chewy, either.

  • So what I'm hearing is someone needs to up his dosage so the problem solves itself quicker.

  • Yeah, outside of Stardew Valley and minecraft, my experience with linux native games has been.. unpleasant. Meanwhile, the proton version of the same games have never given me issue.

  • i don’t think anyone in this thread is saying we shouldn’t have proton,

    Really?

On the one hand, it’s a shame in general, as Proton has truly been a pesky thorn on the foot for Linux gaming

Cause that implies wanting to get rid of it. You don't tend to fondly keep as a momento the thorn in your foot.. you rip it out and get rid of it.
