  • The articles are the citations. Articles themselves don't typically have citations like Wikipedia. That's not actually how journalism works.

It's starting to look like you don't understand how any of this works.

  • What on earth is a company if not management and the processes it uses?

In other words, If they have bad management and they lack proper processes to safeguard client data, are they not a bad company?!

  • I'm not sure that those regulations are there for a good reason. I'm sure that those regulations are there because somebody wanted them and this is not an unintended consequence of them.

In fact I'm almost certain that the abusive anti-human use of this law is something dreamed up when the law was first penned to paper.

  • You take drugs for fun,

No amount of drugs will make me fun

    We are not the same

  • Because we are a sick people addicted to advertising in all sectors of our lives.

  • We don't need to upgrade the grid ourselves, we need to push the government to force these companies that make astronomical amounts of money off of us to upgrade their network. There's no reason why they need to have even a single drop of profit flow out to investors if they can't modernize their grid.

Maybe we just need to set a deadline for grid upgrades or they get nationalized.

  • I thought that too. My (now windows only) computer has two M2 slots, I used one for Linux and one for Windows. One day I walked into my office having left windows running the night before and my computer had rebooted and updated, The first thing I did was try to boot into the Linux partition and it did not work.

Not taking that chance again, I now have two separate PCs on my desk.

  • They all should have been at least this long considering that the punishment for treason doesn't exactly have a light touch.

That said, the fact that this guy gets 22 years and most of them get a couple of years makes me wonder what's different about his situation.

(Looks at picture) Oh. Really, it's that simple eh?

  • At this point I just accept that my windows desktop is going to reboot itself and update itself every fucking night. I used to be able to leave it on for months at a time only rebooting when I felt like it and had prepared all of my open projects to be rebooted.

Now I do those projects on my Linux PC, which has to be a separate PC now because the windows updates completely screw up dual booting. Microsoft is such a shit show, I would probably only turn on that PC on the weekends except I need Windows for work.

  • I don't know, the "Spanish prisoner" is a scam that seems to be reinvented every few years every time we see a little bit of a change in technology. It wouldn't take much to fake a person's voice with a trained model, especially if that person has an online profile open to the public where they post content in their own voice.

  • If I could get Apple devices in an open compatibility I wouldn't hate them I probably still wouldn't buy them though.

My hatred comes from the fact that I believe critical thinking and mental flexibility are very important skills for people to develop at a very young age. I think one of the most important avenues for the development of reasoning and technical skills is through interaction with technology.

That technology should encourage and reward your curiosity. Apple does not reward curiosity or encourage it, it taxes it to such a degree that Apple users are by and large technologically illiterate.

I grew up on Apple computers, and when I was little the Mac nerds we're doing some pretty cool and impressive shit with their Mac tech that you just can't do now. It was a gateway to me learning about a lot of this technology, but they are a walled garden now, and it gets worse every year.

  • A large part of my job is helping young people and seniors learn how to use technology. Apple makes that much more difficult because Apple stuff only works the Apple way none of it translates to any other technology.

Whenever I talk to somebody who doesn't know what a folder is, what a browser is, that when they download files they go to a place, how to share content with non Apple users, how to use non Apple software, how to use any other non Apple technology, its because Apple wants it that way. I just don't understand why a company this abusive would have fans.

It's like being a fan of Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Wells Fargo, or The Pinkertons. You are paying extra for fashion accessories that are objectively lower spec and with a reduced feature list than the alternative that is cheaper. The only benefit of Apple devices is the security, And that's easily bypassed because they don't need to compromise the device to get your information from Apple.

  • All of the data harvesting of Android TV can be blocked with ease. None of the closed ecosystem, price gouging, or feature rot of Apple devices can be worked around in any way.

If you're content with the limited offerings available on Apple devices and the exorbitant prices you have to pay to get access to them then by all means continue to fund that nightmare company and it's war on consumers.

  • It's hard to imagine that police in Korea have solved all the crimes with victims and now have enough time and resources to go after victimless crimes so vigorously they drove people to suicide.

Maybe the police need their priorities straightened out.

  • Don't buy apple's expensive garbage. If you are thinking about getting some Apple TV device you should get a shield, an Android TV, even a raspberry pi 4b would be better than bending over for apple.

Just stop giving that fucking company your money.

  • If you don't like churches burning, then you should target the leadership of the church which is being less than 1,000 million percent cooperative with any investigation into anybody in their institutions history that ever enabled or covered up for this shit. Either we hang some church officials for their inhumanity or the churches need to be burned to the ground to make sure nobody has to look at that shit anymore and be reminded of what they got away with.

Somehow when you kidnap children, murder them in the backyard, bury them without funerals, And then hide all this information from the police, people seem to think that if you get away with it long enough the police shouldn't investigate you and punish you the way that we would any other child murdering psychopaths. It's probably best that Canada doesn't have a death penalty, but then why not punish these people by locking them up?
