I really wish they'd bring back OW1 as "Overwatch Classic" or something. If they did that, especially if they put it on Steam and dropped the lootboxes, I would play the absolute crap out of it. I miss OW1, and I miss my girl Orissa with her shield. 😭
I've had one before. They are def not a good enough replacement for AC when you really need it, but they're not useless, either. They certainly don't work like AC does, you are right. They can make you feel a little cooler if you're sitting in front of it. lol
Pro tip: Dowse the pad insert in water and put it in the freezer. You can also put an ice cube or two in the water reserve. Both of these things maximize the "cooling" power, but again, you can't really expect it to cool a whole room.
I hear that. There are some good-looking Android apps in the works, but nothing yet. Also, ftr, the upvotes vs posts thing is now synced up with Lemmy.
When it comes to changing someone's mind, I believe it helps to first question whether there's even a need to do so. If there is, then asking questions is vital. You can't just hit someone with Facts & Logic™ and expect that it will immediately undo something they may have had drilled into them since childhood, or something that requires recognition that would challenge other dearly held beliefs (e.g. "if my dad did a bad thing, then is he not the great, infallible man I thought he was? If he's a bad person and people tell me I look and act just like him, does that mean I'm a bad person, too?"). Finding out why someone believes what they believe, and taking time to understand it yourself and validate their experience is instrumental in opening up people's hearts and minds. Or, at least, that's been my experience and is therefore true to me. 😉
This is awesome!! Very much looking forward to seeing what's posted here, and sharing tips of my own. I've actually got a handful to share when I have the time to write them out soon.
Can... Can we make that? lol Like community effort, get a big-ass spreadsheet going, compile the best of all the old memes in the best quality we can find, bundle em up, and get that going?
There is no good free VPN. Proton is the only one with a free tier I'd trust, but again, it won't help with stuff like this. VPNs are expensive operations to run. If it's free to use, there's basically no chance that they aren't monetizing it in a shady way.
Mullvad is $5/month, you don't have to subscribe (you can buy a single month), and they accept multiple private payment options. I would highly recommend shelling out the $5 to protect yourself over risking it with a free VPN.
Yes, same. I went back and watched a bunch of old flash animations that I found hilarious back in the day, and they did not hold up. lol Funny how drastically my sense of humor has changed over the years.
I will say, though, Homestar Runner? Particularly Strongbad Emails? Still hilarious.
Dunkey, Let's Game It Out, NakeyJakey, Digital Foundry, and Gameranx are the ones I watch most regularly.
The Architect of Games and Razbuten are fun ones if you like video essays, and Keenengraz is great for finding lots of insane free games to play. ThatGuyGlen has some cool, short docu-style videos on the making of indie games that are really well done.
I'm sure I'm forgetting plenty, but those are some of my favorites, for sure.
Don't mind me, I'm just a 31 year old man with no kids who's unironically excited for this game now.
