  • That's the beauty of it. Republicans write laws that always leave a backdoor for them to pull shenanigans that aren't in the spirit of the law. And if/when they're called out on it they hand wave and say "well it's not clear so the law is up for interpretation".

Now they're crying foul because it was used against them and kung-fu clutching those pearls.

  • These cops remind me of this cop that used to harass us as kids at the local park.

More than two kids in a group were planning bank robbery levels of orgenized crime. Walking away when he showed up to harass us meant we were going to smoke the "devil's lettuce". If you mouthed off he'd take out his night stick, do some nightstick-kata to let you know he meant business, and come at you.

Long story short - that cop was so tightly butted the apocryphal tall tale was that at Christmas, Santa put him on the naughty list every year. Pissed off that he only got coal in his stocking he'd had enough.

His fragile cop ego was bruised. Since he couldn't very well beat Santa with his nightstick. he shoved all that coal up his ass instead. He was so tight butted you see, the immense pressure in there would turn those lumps of coal into diamonds and the worth of them would be way greater than anything Santa would give him. He'd get the last laugh.

    But he didn't kill anyone.

  • Hey, I'm gonna share a few little dad-isms that my dad shared with me many many moons ago that hopefully will help you put things into perspective when you're feeling impatient. I know it did for me.

You gotta break a few eggs to make an omelette

Sometimes it's about sending a message to let 'em know you're watching

Nothing worthwhile in life comes easy

People will get away with whatever you let them get away with

    There's no honor amongst thieves

    Fast, easy, cheap: pick two

You have to learn to walk before you can learn to run

The journey of a million miles begins with a single step

    and the similar

You can eat an entire elephant a single bite at a time

  • Have you learned nothing from paywalled articles and blogs from 2002? You get them interested in what you have to say. Make them laugh. Compliment them. Put in a little work first.

By then you'll both be so into it that nicely asking for what you want to do is a mere (but neccessary) formality (consent is always required -- Ed.).

Then after a few paragraphs you whip out the unskippable popup and stop the fun until they show you the goods, and they'll give up that fake email address you want so bad willingly.

You don't go right for it right out of the gate and shoot your wad immediately. It's a good way to make sure no wants to check you out again. It's just bad form. People talk.

  • "Man, you know how easy it would be to get away with insider trading/misreporting earnings/reselling seized fentanyl/asking for a key piece of evidence to go missing? I have a friend/family member/employee/business contact/perp I let go that owes me a favor."

  • The link from Lemmy takes you to an email sign-up page instead of actual content that requires you click "No Thanks" first before you can continue. I should have stopped there but I didn't. To bypass the sign up page copy the link and remove the "r" variable from the query string first.

The only thing I saw referencing Nobaru linux was a link near the top of the page to who knows where. The rest of the page is filled with words haphazardly forced together against their will, and it shows.

  • They want to do like they did with The Hurt Locker all those years ago: movie didn't pull in what they wanted it to, so they got a list of IPs from setting up a seeder, took those to the ISPs (who turned over customer names and addresses asap) and sent scare letters to all the customer addresses they received threatening to sue each person in each household for millions per number of copies they estimated (made up the difference in cost vs actuals plus a bonus on earnings for mgmt) were shared across torrents. Unless you paid them a couple thousand dollars instead.

They knew most would throw the letter away like the garbage it was, but a lot of people paid. Especially elderly folks whose grandkids came over and used the computer to do it. It works!

  • “We will not provide Hunter Biden with special treatment because of his last name,” said Representative James R. Comer, Republican of Kentucky and chairman of the oversight panel.

Are you kidding me? Lol. There's this guy Republicans love who lives only on special treatment - this guy no Republican can get down on their knees fast enough to service - this guy who is so into himself who cries like a baby if someone doesn't give him the special treatment he wants - and they made him their leader.

Special treatment for younger Biden. Get the fuck out of here Comer.

    Comer is a hores's ass.

  • Call your Senators and Congressmen and tell them this shit is unacceptable. Call over and over until their aides are sick of hearing your voice. Even if you aren't in the same party and you didn't vote for them. Let every gov't employee know enough is enough.

  • This is a sorry spoiled horse's ass asking corp America to do him a solid and cause a crash. Why? Because it is one of the items on the checklist that makes the waters just right for his orange shirts to start hitting the streets. Just like Germany before his idol came to power.
