Getting ready to switch to Linux full time

  • For ages I ran two SSDs.

    One had Linux one had windows.

    The reason is windows like to over write the bootloader when it updates (or did)

    So for me... I had the Linux SSD as the primary boot device and I had to select the windows device in grub to boot windows.

    It worked for ages and ages until I realized I wasn't using windows anymore.

    Edit: I ran a 1060 Nvidia on Ubuntu / Manjaro / arch / Debian

    I never had an issue. Tho I use kde because waaaaay back in the day it was the only DE that wouldn't screen tear.

    Edit 2: I wouldn't move your windows drive.. just add a second one

    You train to shoot center mass while calm because the majority of folks when all hopped up on adrenaline can't even hit the person they are shooting at. https://www.cnn.com/2020/08/26/us/why-police-shoot-so-many-rounds-trnd/index.html

    Cops in Dallas in 2019 only hit targets <35% of the time. And they are "trained".

    So train to hit center mass and pray you're never in a situation where you have to use your training

  • When I was 16 I worked at at Taco Bell. I watched an older fellow lose his God damned mind at the kid who made his burrito. He screamed at the kid for putting onions on his bean burrito. Screamed. Once he was done screaming he threw the oniony burrito across the counter at the kid. This was on a Sunday afternoon and dude was in his Sunday best.

    From then on I vowed to never be that guy. This was in 1996 I made $4.25 an hour and I assume the kid making the burrito made close to the same.

    Something that gives me comfort about that situation now is that dude is probably dead. So fuck him and his onions.
