  • Both yes and no. If you fall into an algorithmic rabbit hole, you might never see the truth- they’ll just throw bullshit at you to keep you engaged. This is being abused at an alarming rate to metaphorically zombify people into angry little brownshirts.

On the other hand, we can witness the atrocities in Palestine; we can see the mobs of settlers beating people out of their homes, we can see videos of indiscriminate collective punishment via weapons of mass destruction, and we can see the shitposting IDF soldiers do on social media bragging about the rape and violence they did today. We can watch Trump lie and get fact checked in real time, or witness them try to sanewash the insanity we just witnessed live.

  • Hacking a signal server should yield zero useful results. Messages are encrypted on the phone before being sent. Signal servers only ever receive and retransmit encrypted blobs, never the plaintext. They, by design, do not have the keys to decrypt those messages. There might be metadata about who messages who and when, but I’m not 100% familiar with that part of it.

Now, if you pwn the phone, on the other hand, you can record the display and log the keystrokes.

  • Media won’t report that, it’s be bad for the shareholders of iOS or Android was known to be exploited. They’ll just say “Signal bad! Signal insecure!” While these dipshits probably have given GIF Keyboard access within it and shit like that.

  • It doesn’t. All it “knows” is that it has trained on data that makes that claim in the text (ie people’s tweets) and that, statistically, that’s the answer you are looking for.

All it does is take a given set of inputs, and calculate the most statistically likely response. That’s it. It doesn’t “think”. It just spews.

  • Thing is, they know it’s a car problem.

The car isn’t built for Max, but Max is a good enough driver to wrestle it. Albon has said it’s like using a computer with the mouse speed all the way up (referring to steering) and it makes you tense; overdo it even slightly and it gets away from you.

This ain’t a Lawson problem. Red Bull is just rolling the dice hoping to find someone else why can handle a car as twitchy as theirs; and they are flailing.

  • Don’t Peter Thiel and all the other amphetamine tech bros want to make cyberpunk tech cities with no laws except those of the controlling corporations on Federal land so they can test out like mind control chips and shit?

Like EPCOT but for real this time

  • Everything over there is a flaming skeleton on a motorcycle driving though lightning away from a nuclear explosion and usually some kind of slogan about “cranking your hog”

    It’s honestly gold

  • No doubt on a personal device, surrounded by hostile cell towers and WiFi hotspots and being bombarded with who knows what kind of state-level malware.

It’s not like they need to break signal; if they can clandestinely screencap, keysniff etc then this chat was completely pwned regardless of how secure it was between TCP endpoints

This is not even a conversation that should be happening on a government issued smartphone in a hostile foreign country.
