It's a great bogeyman they can spend money going after because the people who they'll screw over (ie those who will lose their home if they start working as minimum wage is too low and support is only given to people who earn below a certain amount which is way too little) would never vote for them anyway

The thing that picks people up could even have metal wheels as it follows a fixed route, and run on metal roads

There's a difference between being a team player and a subservient pawn though - if the maintainer wanted to play as a team they would've suggested changes to the patch and accepted OP's PR. As it happens they didn't as they clearly have some sort of a power/superiority complex or something, or at best are dismissive of others to the detriment of the project they work on

I can also get up to about 40mph downhill on both (which should be a good indicator of rolling resistance/air resistance as it takes out the pedaling part), so that leads me to believe (given the rolling resistance info) that the actual biggest factor which makes the road bike so much easier to ride is weight (and gear ratios, but that's not relevant to e-bikes)

Yeah no, it's a list which targets Russian shills and which Russian shills want to discredit by making it seem strange and questionable.

The websites (or at least Google & Facebook - not sure about Microsoft, it could just be low value ad space that nobody really wants?) you've described are known as "walled gardens" in advertising, meaning the DSP (demand side platform, where people who run ad campaigns manage those campaigns), SSP (supply-side platform, where websites & apps with available add space list that space) and at times the website itself are all part of the same company.

This creates a conflict of interest - essentially DSPs want to place as few ads as reasonable as they only want to advertise to people the ads will have an impact on. SSPs want to show as many ads as possible so they get paid more. This results in walled gardens, like Google & Facebook, showing ads more than they should be resulting in overcharging as a result compared to an optimally run campaign. Many reputable companies and ad agencies are aware of this and so advertise less with the walled gardens, resulting in proportionally higher scam ads, as no agency would run a campaign for them.

There's also the fact that they have no relationships to maintain. If a DSP is constantly showing scam ads in the ad spaces they buy, then they'll get blacklisted by the SSP. Same the other way around if the SSP keeps selling misrepresented ad spaces that will never be seen or will be resold every 5 seconds to the DSP, or otherwise not being a trustworthy partner to work with. As the walled gardens don't need to maintain this relationship and there's no risk of being blacklisted, they can effectively advertise whatever and put ads wherever on their website - they're generally powerful enough that people will use their product anyway, so there's no downside for them to accepting scam ads if they're paying.

As a more "typical" zoomer I'd say that we're a bit skeptical of exit interviews compared to other generations as a result of the whole "not buying into corporations being a family" thing & not appreciating a checkbox approach to employee wellbeing... I know personally if I was leaving a job where (not even because) I felt like any feedback I gave fell into a void and any I received was on rare occasions and only from my direct manager then I'd consider it a bit of a waste of my time to say why I'm leaving, so just try to get through the interview faster

Air is generally cheaper than rail for the cheapest ticket, but more polluting and for journeys under around 300 miles slower, if you're flying from city centre airports like Billy Bishop or London City, or 500 miles if you're flying from larger out of city airports. Additionally it's even safer than flying and you can take way more luggage and bikes.

People don't tend to have a fear of train travel though, it's just that NIMBYs, those who would rather pour money into a pit than make investments and corrupt politicians (those last two often being the same people) who tend to dislike it.

I tried to move to Munich or Hamburg (also Helsinki but that's not Germany) to get out of London but nobody, even for jobs way below what I'd already got in London, would sponsor me a visa despite me speaking passable german (not great but I studied in school and as an extra-curricular at uni)

As for the loyalist paramilitaries, they were terrorists too. Just because they were doesn't mean the IRA weren't.

To some people pleasing god and liberating people from sinful leadership is something worth fighting for. And when you REALLY fight for something like that it's a messy process and you're going to to things that moderate liberals look down on as going too far.
