Depends on how fast I’m talking but, yup. South islanders do it more than north ime.

I know when I pronounce it, it’s different on the a/e - NZ English.

If you’re wealthy it’s the best place to live. If you’re not it sucks. Source, someone who’s travelled a bit, including the States, and has a reasonable amount to compare it to.

To be fair, in both your examples(macOS, Android) the cost of the OS is borne by the cost of the device, same as if you got an OEM installed windows device from a retailer. That’s not a huge point of difference

It’s like that everywhere. The US is not an outlier. You need quality education systems in place as well or you can’t educate your future medical professionals. This is how democracy dies. Undereducated sickly populace will vote for whoever comes off the top rope with the funniest/angriest shit. We were sunk as soon as education funding cuts began worldwide. Early 90s in my country, probably similar elsewhere.

You can go back to Counterstrike for that. Was a free mod for half life, then one day you needed Steam to play it. It’s how Steam was released and part of why there was such massive uptake early. Biggest game in the world at the time.
