Did you know the contacts to the head, preamp and the motor on regular spinning disks are not soldered nowadays? That's right, after some clever PLM engineering, companies decided NOT to do this. Why? It shortens the life span of the disk, thus, your disks die and you go and buy new ones.
Mitigation of this problem: Remove the controller board from the drive and solder (add solder) to all of the contacts that connect to something to the aluminium chassis of the disk.
That's because the US is in "advanced" capitalism now, the rest are playing catchup.
Plus, from what I've seen in the US regarding politics, elections, etc. in the last 10 years or so, is that US polititians (in general) are taking examples from late capitalism/democracy adopters, such as the eastern European block. I can tell you for a fact that some scams I've seen being done by polititians in the US were not invented in the US. They're eastern block practices to drive up votes for one party or another, to distract the people from a certain fiasco, to stage a coup, etc. They're just plays to keep the public defocused regarding real problems, make drama on purpose.
I'm actually kinda surprised it took the US this long to see that these things can be used to control things regarding politics and the masses. It's been common practice in most east European countries for the past 30 years or so.
So, basically, it's not much different from the rest of the world then. The working class goes to prirson for evading tax on a lawnmower, the rich get a slap on the wrist for stealing millions... good to know.
Likewise, the communism Stalin implemented wasn't true communism. Nobody gets it perfect the first time. But Washington is still praised as the founder of the USA, but Stalin is frowned upon ๐ค. These are the double standards I'm talking about.
Because basically, everyone got scared from them being communists/socialists and just decided to defederate from them.
It's nothing more than fear based on years of propaganda pushed by western countries, nothing more. They don't defederate from anyone, yet everyone feels the need to defederate from them. Yes, they do have leftist views, they do think the world of many current and ex communist leaders, but if you don't like that, you can just block their communities ๐คท.
Other than that, their communites are mostly like everyone else's, politics, memes, piracy, comics, etc. They even have a few LGBTQ+ dedicated communities and about 20% of them are LGBTQ+ acording to a recent demographic survey they had (you can find it in their main community), so... basically, they're human, just like the rest of us.
Many of them are well informed, not to mention highly educated, so I can see why there is fear amongst other instances - a debate starts, most people will flop regarding info, facts, whatever, they'll have the upper hand in the debate, so why actually try and listen to what they've got to say, they're just tankies anyway - defederate ๐คท.
If you don't like their communities, just block them, no need to defederate from them... at least I can't see a reason.
Got this playing in ReVanced now ๐ค.
