Actually BetaMax is a superior standard, TV stations used it... but, it was A LOT more expensive. Sony thought that just being superior was gonna win over the standards war.

He's not that wild, but every once in a while, he's like "oh boy, I gotta have that 😀"... and I just give in, like fine, here you go 😒. I'm only strict about things that may be bad for his well being, like running towards an open shaft or starting fights with other dogs. I think he gets it though, cuz he doesn't do those things any more, or very rarely. But, I'm a softie when it comes to disciplining around the home, so it's just empty threats from my side, and he knows it 🤷.
Everyone knows that, and everyone knows that BTRFS was released under GPL to restore the balance (as well as have the FS maintained and developed for free).
My point was, Oracle has contributed as well as RH. They offered to make RHEL instead of RH, RH do repacks. IBM is just greedy and we have seen where these sorts of things lead, to a dead company.
