  • For many reasons. One of which is that I still have to use it, and enter my PII into it. If I can convince them to use less of these, why not do that?

  • That's what I was saying. Everyone gave Mozilla flack for their deal with Google, and here MS is doing it way, way worse. I actually don't mind that Google was the default search engine in ff. It made it usable out of the box for the vast majority of users, and the minority had to click two button to change it. Seemples.

  • I'm sure that's an end goal here, but logging into a Google account through Edge, integrates it into the Windows OS. Sort of like (but not as intensely as) logging into a Microsoft account through Edge. So, while, yes, it's end goal is through rivalry, the method is a partnership.

  • Google's MS deal makes it more integrated into the Windows [OS], than Google was integrated into Mozilla's FF browser. Odd phrasing, I'll give you that lol

    [Edit]

  • Not a choice in most business settings. Windows servers, Microsoft cloud, Windows workstations, and a 365 to complement. You have a better, equally integrated solution? Because, if so, I'd love to hear it.

Edit. I'm being serious. I'd love to hear it. If it meets the needs of my employer, I'll pitch it. I have some pull. Who knows... it may work.

  • How many lemmings do you know that actually read the full articles? If an article interests me enough to read it, I usually try to summarize it in the comments, and, yes, point out its flaws.

  • Why are they called unwomen?

Edit: ffs. I need to get off the phone and drink my coffee. United Nations Women. Third shift is killing me.

  • If it's Veritasium, I would just recommend watching. End of sentence. This bloke is amazing.

What's a "hydrophobic coating" in relation to foods?

I don't use plastic to heat anything up. I may buy microwavable foods, but then scrape them into a metallic or class container and heat them in the oven (that's more out of necessity, as I don't have a microwave oven). And I don't like popped corn (though I kind of wish I did).

  • Do you think I was being sarcastic? I was serious. That burn was awesome and it legitimately made me laugh lol

  • This is expensive and time consuming Because this is not a permanent solution (the patient will get reinundated with microplastics shortly after the procedure), they will need reapplications throughout their whole lives. Thus, this will likely only be available to the ultrarich.

The article does point out that prevention is still the best solution. But the corpos make that hard.

  • That's a good question no one else seems to be asking. When you run local prompts, you're using more battery on your laptop or power from your PSU, but both of those are limited by their relatively small power consumption (when compared to server farms). Therefore, it could be likened to encoding heavy video or exporting complex blender models. Are you using more electricity? Yes. Is it city-eroding amounts more? Not even close.

  • Counterpoint: the parents before chatgpt raised Altman, Hitler, musk, trump, Putin, Castro, etc.

  • Call the bobbies police and file a report, using your footage as evidence. If it's like here, they won't actually do anything, but you'll need that report to file a dispute with your bank. Best buy will likely try to write you off, but they can't really do that with a proper report backed by evidence.

    Edit: sorry. Police.

  • While this is, as you pointed out, not entirely inaccurate, I appreciate the small writeup, as I would plan to run Fedora or other similar distro on it and like to know it's flawless in this regard.

  • Today's "AI" remind me of the versificator, both in terms of slop and in terms of lack of thought and creativity.

  • Don't forget, one the sleekest airplanes to ever exist.
