  • As someone who is intimately familiar with Google's shenanigans, this is not worth activating. These are insulting of them.

  • Keep all your free trial. I'mma uninstall stock android anyway.

  • Dude. You can't post this cunt without an nsfw tag. This is a family establishment.

  • The resource is the mask. Print it to size and, boom, you're Guy The Ethical Hacker.

  • That is strange. I have a 7 Pro, and have had this for a long while (before I started seeing people post about it on Lemmy). But I also have CalyxOS, which I'm sure plays a role. I have a buddy with a 7. I'll check their phone later today and report back. Though they usually complain about updates rebooting their phone, and they haven't mentioned anything since they got this phone... a bit concerning lol

Edit: so, they have it on their phone. They don't use it, but they have it. I'm not sure why your 7 doesn't.

  • It's manufacturer specific. What brand is your phone?

  • Interesting compilation of resources. Very "how do I even get started" level, which might be super helpful for a lot of beginners. I'm assuming, by OP's username, that they wrote this. If so, I would like to recommend another resource into the "why should I even care" category: Means of Control by Byron Tau.

  • I use raid5 on an HP server, and am dealing with 2 drive failures, because HP's qc is garbage. Raid6 would have saved me here, but it's not really likely to have 2 drives fail simultaneously, so... yeah.

I recommend looking into 321 backup, too. Raid isn't a backup solution, but it seems you already understand that and are trying to do that.

  • North Korea was able to stop it. Granted, they literally just don't allow any of the tech in the hands of the average person with threat of torture or death. But dystopian is as dystopian does.

I see your point, though, and it'll likely always be possible to bypass those controls, at least for people with the know-how. But that's not the average citizen. Let's do what we can to ensure it doesn't come to this in the first place.

  • I see this is using OpenAI. Any plans to add support for local models, instead of cloud ones? Some companies, especially those dealing with government contracts, can't use cloud AI. However, your tool looks pretty dope, and would be a perfect addition to our arsenal, if it had support for local models.

Edit: I say "our", but I'm a company of one lol

  • It's much harder when all your ISPs and the world's largest DNS resolvers block the IPs or resolving the DNS, which is what this dystopian bill proposes. Make no mistake, this is Orwellian censorship masquerading as piracy protection.

  • It was a 0day back then, I guess, so it (in some unknown magic way) keeps that designation forever, apparently.

Real reason: people want clicks on their slop, so they bait your clicks with nonsense.

  • Yeah... their post gave me the willies, too. It's like walking into Russia/Ukraine's front lines and yelling "fuck Putin" over and over.

"Well, I wasn't shot yet, so it's fine"

  • Trained on 19,000 hours of video content from undisclosed sources

I'm gathering their "undisclosed sources" are social media (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, etc.) and copyrighted content (DVDs, BRDs, etc.), all without permission or legal rights. I wonder when pirating becomes just another brick in the wall...

  • I read about this DM. What's the purpose of those messages?
