Is there a way to delete/remote followers?

Today I got my first bot follower on Mastodon. Is there a way to remove it? I only see block available, but I’m not 100% sure what that does and I’d prefer not to have a porn account follow me. Any help?

  • Use the block option, the account is then removed from your follower list, at least that's what I have done, & that seems to be the outcome. Can also report the account, which should get it removed, if enough complaints have been received..

  • I've had bot accounts follow me in the past and blocking removed them from my follows.

  • Blocking is the way. Not only will the bot not appear on your followers list, it won't be able to get any post that you put out. I would recommend locking down the ability of people to follow you, because unlike Twitter, the fediverse isn't a popularity contest and it really doesn't matter if you have a ton of followers or only a few. Go to Preferences->Appearance and click the check box marked "Require follow requests."
