Thanks for the suggestions! IMDB links for lazy people: The Endless, Resolution.
I JUST REALLY LOVE THE RETRO 70'S DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES/NUCLEAR REACTOR/ATARI FUTURE AESTHETIC THEY HAVE FOR THIS SHOW.
It was fantastic
I can only agree. I fell behind on when it started so I was able to binge the first 4 episodes. I found myself really paying attention to the episodes and not scrolling on my phone or laptop at the same time like I typically do. I was even eager for the next episodes.
It's been awhile since I felt that way. Maybe Mr Robot being the last time.
At this point they could kill off the whole MCU and only keep Loki, I wouldn’t be even slightly sad.
How many possible sources of parallel universe do we have again?
I think it’s time to prune a little.
It's almost like when the writers are allowed to have an actual ending we get a good show or movie.
Oh the seasons done now? Excellent, I can start watching this wknd.
What about compared to the first season? Is it anywhere close?
It was underwhelming compared to season one, which upped the ante which each episode. It overly relies on a MacGuffin which is kind of boring. They certainly followed HWR's words to the letter, "you can't get to the end until you've been changed by the journey" and so on. Unfortunately, said journey was a lot less riveting than season one's. It may be harsh but the five first episodes felt like filler to me.
The finale however, really picks up the pace and delivers a memorable and a worthy conclusion.
I feel like S2 episodes 2 and 3 were particularly bad. "Filler" definitely feels like the appropriate word, S2E3 in particular felt to me like it was heavily padded out. The finale really saved the season, no matter how you slice it.
Also, I'm disappointed that my personal fan theory didn't pan out: ::: spoiler spoiler Have Renslayer turn out to be a female Kang variant. Could've made for an interestingly parallel with Sylvie and Loki, and would explain why He Who Remains trusts her with so much. We didn't actually see Renslayer die though, so maybe... :::
I would have been more inclined to watch this if season one had been self-contained and there had been more time between s1 & s2.
Time doesn't work that way in the TVA.
I know. I'm having trouble reconciling that fact.
Tom Hiddleson almost single handedly carrying the entire Marvel franchise at this point.
Not, I dunno, the writers or the directors or the other staff that helped make the show?
Yeah everybody in this just killed it.
