Oh, awesome, hadn't heard of Tesseract, I'm stoked we have so many high quality UIs for Lemmy now!
Unfortunately all of them break greasemonkey scripts that help with blocking instances, which would keep me from using lemmy at all.
You're still luckier than me, the video doesn't play for me at all, neither on lemmy, nor on the original website. Firefox tells me "No video with supported format and MIME type found".
Really? Extremely odd. Do you know what direct link host works fine for you? Always looking for new ones. I’m pretty close to just making my own.
It's an H264 MP4 with AAC audio, which is the most common cotainer codec combo.
I am gonna guess you are on Linux (or Mac?) But it could be wrong. The issue is probably h264 as that has issues due the licensing.
Firefox uses OpenH264 to play it as far as I am aware.
So whatever it is, is something of your specific setup that probably doesn't have the needed plugins/codecs installed/enabled.
so when we have our domestic robots will they be casually trick shotting all over the place?
If they don't straight out of the box, you bet your ass there will be some jailbreak custom mod you could upload to its firmware.
Gosh I hope so. At least they'll be entertaining while they silently plot our overthrow.
Kinda crazy how I could play this video directly on my phone's video player...
Definitely the ones where you don't have to go back inside the house would be the most useful. The only thing missing is an overlay that says +500 points! and an announcer that says "Perfect!"
The third of the vid I could see at any one time was very nifty.
On a somewhat related note, it seems Lemmy doesn't know how to fit a tall video in a browser screen.
I suggest Photon, Alexandrite, or Tesseract.
