It's revenge. Santos scammed money from the state Republican party and national party that could've gone to their campaigns.
Exactly. Scamming money from normal people they can overlook. In fact, that might have rocketed Santos up the Republican pecking order. But steal from other Republicans? That's a huge no-no!
