Editor’s note: We’re increasingly concerned by the misinformation and bad behaviour happening over on X (Twitter). So we’ve left that cesspit to focus on stories and connections that make things better for Kiwis

Would be cool if they opened a a mastodon account.
- How does Mastodon handle embedded toots? I think being able to embed posts in articles has been a key part of twitter's popularity, but I've never seen a mastodon post embedded. I'm not sure if that's because it's not something they make easy, or if it's just not popular enough to show up in news articles yet.

- I keep forgetting mastodon exists. But also I never really twittered either.
What about Facebook? That's full of crap too.
- Unfortunately I think Facebook is non-negotiable at this point. Stuff's FB presence is probably their biggest outside their own site and would mean sacrificing too much of their audience.
  It would be great if they started their own instance though. Tooting their own horn about it would be a good introduction to people who haven't tried the fediverse yet.
