forgetting the camera for a second, imagine going on your honeymoon, renting an airbnb and being given a list of chores and washing to do before you leave

  It’s pretty common for Airbnb hosts to give you a list of chores to do. Empty the bins, clear the beds, gather the towels up etc.
- Have never seen that in all the AirBNBs I've been to, I'm guessing that's US only
  
  I've been expected to empty bins and not leave dishes and put sheets in the wash in Europe.

Airbnb was good for normal travel for like two years.
I travel A LOT. After about the first two years it became obvious to me that unless I value my time at literally 0, a hotel is the better deal almost every time.
It might still be decent for getaways and places that don't have any hotels. But otherwise I would never even open that shitty site.
If I'm paying a cleaning fee, I shouldn't have to put out bins. I don't mind doing washing up or filling the dishwasher, that's all fine.
