Report: Chinese Android makers are testing under-display selfie cameras with 3D facial recognition

After so many years, can't say I understood the appeal of facial recognition on a phone. You're already going to be holding it so fingerprint readers still seem superior in every way. You can unlock it before you even take it out of your pocket too.
Finally in the near future we'll get rid of stupid holes in the screen.
- What near future? Redmagic 10 pro has a very decent underscren camera that you can buy now. Only reason stupid holes in screen exist now is that mainstream phone makers are still assuming all of their customers absolutely care about taking the best selfies all the time.
  
  OnePlus 7 Pro had my favorite approach to front camera with the pop out. Sad they went to regular screen holes like everyone else and then later got rid of the physical mute switch too.
Hole free camera androids already exists.
