Are you fucking serious?
Ah yes Sony, the company famous for being reasonable and of sound mind body and spirit.
Oh wait actually:
They certainly killed a big chunk of the player base and the hype it was building.
Still is dead to me. I heard you can bypass the requirement and don't need a Sony acct again, but it's just not worth the trouble.
You don't have to "bypass it." When you install the game, during the settings process it asks if you would like to create a PS account and you just click no, or skip IDR what the word on the button was. Then it never asks you to do it again, but you can still link it in the options menu if you wanted to later on.
Even people who liked the game couldn’t play it for long.
Who picked that live service market, Sony?
You tried to charge money for a live service game, a genre that has endless options that are free.
Who could have guessed that ahead of time? The industry is famous for seeing a successful new strategy and then driving it into the ground with a list of copycats. The strategy has made so much money before; why would it ever have failed this time?
/s
(Let's all laugh at an industry that never learns anything tee hee hee)
It failed because it was an under competitive game.
Nothing about it stood out other that it's extremely unappealing characters. People were roasting them for weeks.
lol, lmao, etc.
Blame others, go ahead. Helldivers 2 is doing great and Arc Raiders has people excited.
Trash oh and bigger Trash... Sadly only Trash gets released
I thought the Concorde stopped flying because of the operating costs and environmental impact. It didn't have comparable competition as such.
Oh wait this is a games community. What's Concord? Maybe it would've done better if I'd heard of it BEFORE it shut down. Or if they didn't take 8 years to make what sounds like yet another Overwatch copycat?
First time I heard about was after it failed...
Even if you had heard of it, an overwatch copycat is hardly a premise to grip the attention of the masses.
I'm so glad I wasn't the only one. I'm still salty about Concorde (as any French person should be, really).
They've used 4 times the budget of APB and didn't make a game that players would enjoy. APB was the prime example of investors who dont know about making a game throw money until a fun game pops out, and even then it was a fun game.
What about APB reloaded? (Yes, somehow..it is still alive.)
Honestly, I would play it sometimes if they upped the anti cheat. A few years ago I tried it for nostalgia but my experience was ruined because of blatant cheaters.
Nothing like its customization features seem to be in any modern game to date. However it's got like less than 300 daily users, it's also heavily pay-to-win.
Sony just wanted another tax break.
Shocking new discovery: water is wet!
isn't this just another way of admitting it is a skill issue?
