I don’t get it
- There were a lot of fires in California last year.

- Dark humor does not equal edgy humor. Edgy is about laughing at others, dark is laughing at situations
  
  Edgy humour just means it's goes up to the edge of what is acceptable, it's generally distasteful, harsh, unkind. This joke absolutely fits the definition.
