Why U.S. citizen children sent with their deported moms can't come back easily

tldr: racism and fascism.
- Actually, according to the article the main difficulty is just the lack of a passport. The article does mention that some legal residents of the USA might be worried that they would nonetheless be prevented from returning if they left the country to act as chaperones for these children, but that's a purely hypothetical problem so far.

Fun fact, they still legally need to file and pay taxes though.
Say these kids stay in their parents' country until 18, then come to the US since they are an adult, so it is easier to function on their own.
They will have full citizen rights, but have not paid any taxes (sales, property, fees - assuming there have been no income taxes to pay).
Meaning the US taxpayer spent money to send them away and now is now "in the hole" because the US citizen is entitled to public services from day one.
