Tsang Yih Shoe Factory in Hlaing Tharyar Township is one of the largest Adidas footwear suppliers, employing around 6,800 workers. Currently, workers are paid just 5,200 kyats a day, or less than US$1.20 at the market rate.
According to a web source, retail price of a kilo of chicken is US$ 2.06 to $3.84 per kilo in Myanmar. https://www.selinawamucii.com/insights/prices/myanmar/chicken-meat/
Adidas workers are earning $US1.20 PER DAY. That means working the whole day at Adidas will not buy a single meal for these workers.
Thank you for sharing this. Good info.
