China's rare earth export restrictions threaten global chipmaking supply chains

you would think that this would garner as many headlines as the tariffs since these metals are using in everything, but then again i suppose the impact would just a few years until the western world ramps up on other sources so their impact could be shorter lived than the economic impact of the tariff war.
