Anyone else over April Fools being an extension of companies R&D depts

Same old cycle the last few years, omg crazy flavour so funny hahaha... oh well you asked for it I guess here it is. Coprorations never fail to make something cultrual into some cold overplayed markting gimmick

Do you mean PR? Not sure how much R&D April Fools actually involves
I think it's like Superbowl ads. April Fools used to be a chance for websites and retailers to have a little fun and do something to grab attention. And what started as a clever little adventure became a capitalist grind for the mill.
How is it anything to do with R&D?
Can't say I've noticed nor had a problem with it.
Minecraft has always done this. Always a snapshot with a bunch of joke features, then a few actually get added
