Jesus Fucking Christ! The two people that they fired... are NEURODIVERGENT!
And this is all because of some temporary employee who refused to believe that the autism symbol had nothing to do with Pride.

- Agreed. I had thought it would be a bit more "wink wink nudge nudge", but no. The display was not about anything than it was.
  
  It's absolutely outrageous. My wife is an assistant library administrator. I'm worried for her all the time. If these assholes don't get their way when it comes to libraries in a legal manner, I'm terrified of what they'll try to do to get their way.
- As if it's a decent reason to fire someone because they had a trans flag, even.
  
  Agreed, I'm just saying this is especially egregious. It would be like (although this would be illegal) firing a black person because of a black history display.
This is like that episode of Parks and Rec where Leslie married the penguins because it was cute, later to find out there were both boys, this making her action a political statement. People are fucking stupid, that person who complained could have easily looked it up after being informed of what the symbol meant. The board deserves to be sued for their shit decision. Who decides not to sponsor a parade because one of the floats is for pride? Sounds to me like the board is the one with the agenda.
Imagine being so fucking triggered every time you see a goddamn rainbow.

- Fuck the library board member who got this pushed through. That town wouldn't have a library if the people there didn't want a library. But I'm guessing the sort of people who actually patronize the library- to get books, to take their kids to story time, to use the internet, to use meeting rooms- and those are just basic library functions- want a library. My wife's library has 3D printers. Free to use for anyone who takes a quick class on 3D design. They're building a new branch which will have a room with a lockable door and a sign-up sheet, one person at a time, with a shower and a washer/dryer.
  Libraries are fucking incredible. But the people who patronize them the most are the poor. And I'm guessing the right-wing assholes on the Sterling Free Public Library board don't give a shit about the poor in Sterling.

This is all kinds of stupid. Not only are these folk openly bigoted, they don’t care whether their bigotry is misapplied from their stated target. They just want to hate somebody.
- They're triggered by even the sight of anything rainbow colored... but we're the delicate snowflakes.

Even if it were a gender thing, that's still discrimination in the UK, you can't sack people over that here.
Madness. They're going mental over there. I hope they can purge these fascists before the fascists purge them, because gods knows they're working towards it.
