Second cushion is complete. My aim is to finish the two back cusions today as well, but I might only get one done. I'm glad I decided to do the sofa with a single long cushion instead of the three seperate cushions it currently has, that would have taken a lot more time.

Kitchen is a mess but worth it. First tempura zucchini flower which was exciting (weird looking thing in the middle). Sort of pointless but it looked nice.

Even though I figure they're not sending blood from WA to Queensland, I saw that local supplies in my blood type were low. So I dusted off my old donor profile and made a booking.

I fell out of the habit when kids and life stuff happened. I really should have gone back years ago. The process of donating blood is smooth and streamlined. I was in and out in under 30 minutes and back to my day.

I got to wait another month before eligible again. It was also shown that firefighters who donated regularly had lower levels of the forever chemicals we're being warned about these days. My pathology lecturer recommended men donate regularly as we don't have a periods which allow the ladies to lose a little blood on a regular basis naturally.
- Last time I gave blood, I got my period the next day and I was absolutely wrecked! Had to get some iron tablets to feel normal again!

Got my replacement dishwasher in today, did one load successfully - here's hoping it lasts me much longer than the previous one!! I felt such euphoria at clearing so many dishes in one go but had to check myself; don't get attached to it just in case the dw craps out on you again..

Cut up the packaging and dumped it in the recycling, finished the more annoying/tedious half of my desktop work, now doing a bit of laundry and vacuuming and once I get it all dried and am back I'll feel like I truly deserve my week of tv :D

I met one of the neighbours (well, the owner of one of the units) today who turned out to be super nice so that was a real pick-me-up

Have been bed bound with migraine all day. Just now getting up to have breakfast and a shower.

Crazy how a tiny bundle of nerves in my shoulder can absolutely ruin my life.

- I know it well. I would get gravid hyperthyroidism , which would fire off my nerves and then I would get angina like symptoms. Just nerves, nothing actually wrong. It was quite anxiety producing too as the nerves would also fire off anxiety centres of the brain.

  But the impact is fucking crazy.

I have made a start on the next lot of cushions, but decided to take a break instead and went to Resource Rescue (craft supplies) and ended up spending the last couple of hours sorting zippers and untangling elastic. Miss Meow tried to help, but her technique was a bit suspect and things went faster when she was diverted to a job as paperweight instead.

but it's also Severance day and severance reddit has been crazy

It's really taught me how people can be watching the same show and see completely different things. It seems to attract a bigger share of crazy conspiracy theorists than normal.

Even when I watch a TV show that's a few years old, I still like to google the show and the episode number after every episode because I love to see what other people are seeing/thinking/saying. I don't know much about Severance besides what I've seen in here, but I can imagine it has people pitching the craziest of ideas!
- robots, clones, pregnancy and complete surveillance seem to be the most popular
  my fave nuts post so far has been the feminist saying no man could possibly understand the women signally to each other scene. It was men who wrote the scene.

Driving along I wanted to change the song. must've said "hey Google" 5 or 6 times before I realized thats probably not gonna work on my iphone. I havnt had google assistant in like 6 years, man I'm dumb!

I have 2 google homes. One in the kitchen and one in the lounge room. Sometimes the one in the kitchen that's further away answers me but not what I've asked.
The other day I got frustrated and replied "hey google shut the fuck up cunt". Then I heard giggling from another room and realised I wasn't home alone.
Another one is:
Me: Hey google. What's the weather like today?
Google: Would you like me tell you about your day.....
Me: NO. I asked for the weather. Fuck me.

My plan today, doing a bit of work, leave for lunch early and not come back.

Also must allow for travel time.

I have some good news. We've had the old fridge in the garage tarped over for more than 10 years so the other day the man set it up and opened it. It was spotless. I did an excellent job cleaning back when.

Anyway he gave it another clean and it's now a beer fridge which is great because I don't need to tetris my food in the inside fridge every Thursday night.

Tonight we will be celebrating with the original fridge. Also great for storing watermelon in because that shit takes up a lot of room before it gets cut up.

Who knew that cleaning and properly caring for things means they last!
- I really expected it to stink because I've smelt closed up fridges and they fucking hum but this one was odour free.
  When I think about it, I think it's been closed up for about 15 years not ten. We bought it in 1998. Pretty happy it gets another run.

Massive fan of eventide stuff but only tried their plugs. Couldn't live without a few of them.
Looks like zoia looks interesting though. Seems more complex if I'm reading it correctly.
- I had the eventide space but had to sell it when I wasn't working, which really sucked.
  The zoia is super complex but there's hundreds of existing patches that people have already created which is awesome.

Initially the eventide I’d go for but if you’re really going to get into it and also find the sounds you’re looking for and also be able to devote more time figuring it out go for the Empress
- Thanks for the feedback! That's the crux of it. Time spent for esoteric sounds VS ease of use for above average sounds.
I feel like you could almost get the h90 sounds out of the helix, so I'd go the zoia. You could probably put feedback through it and turn it into an instrument on it's own
- Normally I'd agree, but I had a strymon bigsky for a couple of weeks recently and man, the helix reverbs need some serious work in a firmware update.
  Bigsky was literally plug it in, pick a setting and sounds great straight away pretty much. Heaps fuller.
  But the zoia can do some pretty crazy Reverb stuff as well. And you're right about using it as an instrument.
  You can use it to build synths you can control with either mono input guitar or a midi controller.

What a choice, guitar effects or keyboard effects. I think eventide guitar, just because I like the strangeness of guitar effects
also, I know you like guitars.
- The eventide gives amazingly clear but fairly straightforward sounds. Fairly easy to program.
  The zoia on the other hands doesn't do straightforward. It does very unique. Much more difficult to program but has a community that creates sounds for it.
  Eventide is more expensive by $200

E: had a go with these hot and spicy chicken flavour (black packet) indomie noodles. Love the spices - cumin and some other stuff in there - but dear gods it's fiery. Might put less of the chili oil next time. Or zhuzh it up with veg to offset the heat 🥵

- Ha, yeah, that's boyo's routine. One for snuggle time, one for read/wake up brain time, then get up time. Which means I rarely use an alarm because I get up half hour after he's gone. Maybe I should be getting up when his alarm goes off.
Yes. Sometimes even before it goes off. No I'm not a sociopath,just a working mum who has too much shit to do and not enough time. So if i can get an extra 5 minutes I do.

I have 2 alarms but they're put on snooze constantly.
I have to becareful not to snooze more than 2 or 3 times or I'll be late.
I usually snooze a couple of times before getting up. Some days I have a phone scrolling session in bed which is a terrible way to start a day, but I've been working on doing that a lot less.
- I check my insta every morning, but it's filled with puppies and other cute things, so it's not too much of a drag down. But still shows so much I don't gaf about, like ads!
I sleep badly more often than not so most days I'm awake. Sometimes I get back to sleep and the dog wakes me up for walkies.

Yes. I've disabled the snooze function, and the time the alarm goes off is the time I need to get up. If I can afford a bit more time I don't see the point in setting the alarm earlier and having a period of interupted sleep instead of just sleeping properly for as long as I can.
- I always worry that if I turn snooze off, I'll sleep through the first alarm.
I check the weather latest and overnight messages for 5 minutes, then get up.
I'm a slow starter in the morning. I have some back exercises from the physio that I start doing at that time. Check for any new signups/user reports (I'm 3 hours behind, so there are usually a couple) and check out the front page in-between reps. I probably get up 15 minutes after it goes off. I don't go back to sleep.
Also: I am usually awoken by children being loud before my alarm goes off.

What's a laundry scent bead? Nevver erdovit. Are they related to scented garbage bags?
- Basically perfume for your washing, which some people prefer if they don't use fabric softener, for example. The instructions say to use way too much of it as well btw.

Jerboa not working well for me again. Or maybe it's my almost 4yo cheap android phone? Hard to tell. Phone is doing the slow battery death thing. I'll eventually replace it with another cheap android phone. This one was $70 on special from Big W, and 4 years is not bad going really.

I got a packet of snow pea seeds though. It’s the right time to sow according to the pack but they expired in August last year so I guess we’ll see how many sprout. Waited til night and planted out 20 seeds in recycled containers (10 with 2 seeds in each).

I watched another Mike Leigh movie this morning , All or Nothing. It seemed so real it was like voyeurism. The actors didn't seem like they were acting at all.
