what am I doing wrong?

Was trying to make a post on "spiders", but it won't let me upload a picture...

Picture might be too big : there is a maximum number of kilobytes allowed.

I came into this post expecting an introspective discussion on OP's life based on the title. I leave amused by the simplicity of reality.

Had the same problem yesterday. You clicked on "Upload picture", selected one, and nothing happened?
- Crop it if you can or reduce the resolution, maybe. Cropping it worked for me.
  
  Ohh I thought that Lemmy automatically resize and converts my picture to a compressed .webp file. Thank you!

Try using an external image hoster like directupload.eu if you want bigger images :)
