  Nothing is gained from a death. Not even the satisfaction of revenge or closure, as the crime doesn't undo itself. Some people may say they feel vindicated, but they are still mourning their loved one either way.
  Now imagine if keeping a murderer alive enables learning why the events happened, and something is learned to help prevent other potential murders from happening. That is far more satisfying.

Honestly.. Im against the death penalty, but if you decide to go that way as a country just be honest with yourself and allow death by firing squad.
- I was just about to say the same thing. I think a lot of things in society would be different if we were actually honest and actually saw the real state of things. Firing squad is humane (if you have to do the non-humane thing of killing someone in the first place) and honest.
  First off, I am not a vegetarian or a vegan, but I believe we all should see and know where our meat, eggs and dairy comes from, and exactly how it is produced. I believe we would either improve the lives of those animals a lot, or reduce the consumption of animal based food.
