I'm holding out for Premium Lite Pro.
- Now with ads!
- Nah, you better wait. I've heard that Youtube 2 is almost out.
- I think that's called grayjay.
So a way to remove ads at the cost of $ and better tracking. Instead, I'll stick with piped, greyjay, ublock, etc and make it harder to track me and save the $.
Fuck Google.
- I have no problem paying, just let me use my app of choice, without ads, and don't track me. If YouTube did that, I'd be a paying customer instead of a leech. I pay for Nebula and watch on Grayjay, so I do put my money where my mouth is.
YouTube Music Premium costs $10.99, while YouTube Premium is $13.99. It remains to be seen how much cheaper YouTube Premium Lite

Still doesn't allow background playback though, so it's useless to me
- And that’s why I sideload a modified YouTube that includes ad blockers, sponsor segment skipping and background playback, among other things.
  
  I won't pay for YouTube almost solely because Revanced is such a better experience than YT could be. They cannot bundle in Sponsor block without an outrage.
- Try Grayjay. It supports background playback.

I've always wondered why Google doesn't include a YouTube subscription with YouTube TV. They charge enough for it already...
- Because why make less money when you can make more money
- Because you haven't approached the situation with the mindset of a careless greedy fuck.
- Why would the actively make search worse to try and drive engagement time?
Is that like PipePipe for idiots?
I feel the battle will get harder for extractor like NewPipe. I really hope NewPipe will always work despite Google constantly changing their YouTube code.
Didn't they already have this before but removed it? At least in my country a "lite"-variant was available but they removed it like last year.
